Why Kanye West is continuing to fight for Kim Kardashian despite their ongoing divorce
By Diana Nosa
In recent weeks, Kanye West has been pulling out every trick in the book to win back Kim Kardashian’s heart after she filed for divorce in February 2021.
Initially, it was thought that West had moved on from the failed marriage as he was dating his longtime friend Irina Shayk months ago and is now romantically linked with 22-year-old model Vinetria. However, it’s clear that this was all a facade because, to this very day, Kanye West still doesn’t want anyone else but Kim Kardashian by his side for the rest of his life.
Will Kanye West and Kim Kardashian get back together?
He may be doing everything in his power to woo her such as shouting her out at his recent Free Larry Hoover Benefit concert, but, to Kim Kardashian, all of these efforts are in vain.
People Magazine reports that Kardashian, who filed to be considered legally single recently, views the marriage as one that is “irremediably broken down” and has “no possibility of saving the marriage through counseling or other means.” Hence why, despite inviting him to Kardashian Christmas festivities, she still stands by the fact that her relationship with Kanye West has expired for good and has moved on.
Even still, West isn’t throwing in the towel.
“He’s not giving up without a fight. Kim is the mother of his children and he’s not going to just let that go,” an insider told the media outlet. “No matter if they’re husband and wife, they’ll always support each other. Her recent filing or any filing for that matter doesn’t mean he’s going to stop fighting to win her back.”
His fight will only prove to be more difficult from here on out as Kim Kardashian is extremely happy in her relationship with Pete Davidson, potentially busy with her pursuit of becoming a lawyer, and is, of course, preoccupied with her ever-growing and ever-demanding career. Kardashian may barely have the time to attend these events where West wants to proclaim his desires to get his family back together and if she does, it’s most likely to support his endeavors as a friend, not as his wife.
“Despite the recent filing by Kim, Kanye hasn’t lost hope to be with Kim again,” People Magazine reports. “As he goes out more and he’s holding events and concerts, he’s always inviting Kim and will continue to do so. His sole priority is making sure she’s taken care of and treated like a queen, whether they’re married or not. That will always be a priority and that will never change.”
Perhaps being her cheerleader during these busy times would be the best course of action to redeem himself, but as Kardashian already attested to in Keeping Up with the Kardashians, West would much rather do the grandiose things to get her attention rather than the small, more meaningful things such as hanging out at home with the children or living in the same house.
With all of this in mind, it’s safe to say that Kanye West still has ways to go if he truly wants to win this fight for Kim Kardashian’s heart.
