Kanye West isn’t giving up his fight for his family just yet.

The musician purchased a new Calabasas home across the street from Kim Kardashian despite the two being in the middle of a divorce and despite Kardashian having no plans to reconcile. In addition to this, Kardashian is happily dating Pete Davidson. So why is West taking all these drastic measures when it may all be in vain? We tell you the reason below.

Why Kanye West bought new Calabasas home across Kim Kardashian

According to E! News, West purchased the home simply because he wanted to be closer to his four children, North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm.

“It made perfect sense for him to have a place near the kids,” an insider reports. “He scooped it up right when it hit the market in early December and the escrow closed right before Christmas.”

As we know, West and Kardashian decided to have joint custody over the four little ones, splitting the time evenly to create a sense of normalcy in spite of their divorce. Without a doubt, his purchase would certainly allow for the kids to see him more often, but we believe that even if in the slightest of ways, it would also allow him to see Kim Kardashian more.

Aside from the new home, West’s recent actions have clearly shown that he truly believes he has a chance to get back with Kim Kardashian. Not only has he been very vocal about his desires to be with her again, but he also broke it off with his girlfriend Vinetria before the Christmas holiday.

Purchasing the Calabasas home is just the icing on the cake.

Of course, trading in his Hidden Hills home for his new one means that Kanye West has to do everything in his power to make it livable for both his kids and himself. He currently has plans to tear down the home and remodel it completely, though doing this will take some time.

“It will take time to get permits and plans and he won’t be able to live there for awhile,” the source adds. “But he is excited about it and so are the kids.”

While West waits to move into his new home, he will reportedly reside in his Malibu house. But once everything is up and ready in Calabasas, Kim Kardashian will have a new neighbor. How will she fare with this new change and will she be as impressed as Kanye West thinks? Only time will tell.
