Tristan Thompson posts public apology to Khloe Kardashian, confirms he’s Maralee Nichols’ baby daddy

Tristan Thompson is finally coming clean in time for the New Year, and he’s doing so in a very public way.

In case you missed it, the 30-year-old NBA player admitted in court documents to sleeping with a personal trainer named Maralee Nichols multiple times earlier this year, all while he was in a relationship with his on and off girlfriend and baby mama, Khloe Kardashian. Nichols claimed that Thompson was the father of her baby, who was born in Dec. 2021, and now the athlete is confirming that.

According to Us Weekly, Thompson took to his Instagram Story to share a public apology to everyone involved and to Kardashian specifically, revealing that a paternity test was administered and he is, in fact, the baby’s father:

"“Today, paternity test results reveal that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols. I take full responsibility for my actions. I sincerely apologize to everyone I’ve hurt or disappointed throughout this ordeal both publicly and privately.”"

Thompson continued with a share just for Kardashian, writing:

"“Khloé, you don’t deserve this. You don’t deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you. You don’t deserve the way I have treated you over the years. My actions certainly have not lined up with the way I view you. I have the utmost respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think. Again, I am so incredibly sorry.”"

Kardashian has remained pretty quiet on the whole situation, except for one tweet in which she admitted she was “barely in [her] own body right now.” She did not confirm why this was, but her fans could guess the reason. A source close to the 37-year-old reality star shared in December that she was “upset” over the situation, finding the whole thing “sad.”

Of course, this is hardly the first or second time Thompson has cheated on Kardashian. Their relationship has been riddled with infidelities on the athlete’s part, and we’ve seen the mom-of-one open up on her heartbreak on Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

Despite it all, though, Kardashian chose time and time again to take Thompson back. The two share one child together, a three-year-old daughter named True, and have been co-parenting amicably even when they’re not romantically together.

Will Kardashian forgive Thompson again, especially now that another child is in the picture? Hopefully, we’ll find out when the family’s upcoming show, The Kardashians, begins on Hulu. We’re sending good vibes Kardashian’s way and hope she has the support of her loved ones to get her through it.
