Say it ain’t so! Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson have officially called it quits, and we finally have some insight into the reason.

When the shocking news first broke, it was reported that the pair split because they couldn’t quite figure out their long-distance relationship.

Because of his latest project, Wizards, Davidson has had to stay in Australia for an extended period, and because of her busy lifestyle, Kardashian was always going from one country to the next. Nevertheless, the couple made it work for a little, and the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star even took the time to visit her boo in Australia. But it seems while she was keeping her boyfriend company, she also came to find a major flaw within her relationship, spelling the end of her romance with the comedian.

Why did Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson split?

According to Yahoo! News, Kardashian and Davidson broke up because the 41-year-old reality star realized she wasn’t quite ready to dive into a serious relationship after all.

“They had tons of chemistry, and still do, but she kind of wants to be single and date,” an insider revealed. “Kim still adores Pete and will always be friends with him. She still thinks he’s the nicest and sweetest guy in the world and there’s no drama or anything weird between them now.”

The two not being on the same wavelength certainly comes as a surprise. After all, Kardashian made the huge decision to introduce the Saturday Night Live alum to her kids, and Davidson talked to his now-ex-girlfriend about his desire to become a father. Perhaps the progression of the relationship was too much too fast for the mother-of-four.

“She initially thought it would be a fun fling, but then it got more serious when they were spending so much time together. Kim wasn’t feeling like she was willing to settle down with him just yet,” the source continued.

In addition to Kim Kardashian getting cold feet, it seems the SKIMS founder also realized that juggling a relationship, kids, her aspiring career as a lawyer, and a divorce was too much for one person to handle, especially because her ex-husband, Kanye West, is still being a handful.

Of course, West is  joyful hearing that his ex-wife’s fling didn’t work out in the end. So much so that the rapper took to his Instagram to post a picture that reads, “Skete Davidson dead at age 28.” The post has since been removed from his Instagram account, but West’s sentiments were heard loud and clear. We can’t help but wonder what he will do now that Kim Kardashian is, once again, back on the market. (Also, what Pete Davidson is going to do about all those tattoos!)
