Yet again, Kim Kardashian and Scott Disick are in hot water, but not for the reason you may think.
Page Six reports that Kardashian and Disick are currently being sued for $40 million (divided evenly between the two) by participants who applied for a chance to win the celebrities’ luxury giveaways.
The lawsuit does not come from the fact that these participants didn’t win the giveaway, for there are legitimate previous winners in the past. Rather, the lawsuit stems from Kardashian and Disick not communicating with the applicants that their emails, phone numbers, and more private information would be sold to advertisers as a result of their participation.
“ invaded by hundreds of advertisers,” the contents of the lawsuit state. “Some of which are soliciting the Plaintiffs with potentially offensive and unwanted content.”
Although many other celebrities, such as Kylie Jenner, Jake Paul, and Kyle Richards, have all done their fair share of giveaways, it is only Kim Kardashian and Scott Disick who are under fire at this time.
Fans react to Kim Kardashian and Scott Disick alleged Instagram scam
Currently, neither Kim Kardashian nor Scott Disick has come forward with a public statement to clear the air. Even so, we at the very least anticipate Disick to speak out first, as the plaintiffs believe he is the main promoter of the luxury giveaways.
Similar to the (alleged) wronged participants, fans had their suspicions about the charade since it seemed a little too good to be true. Now, fans seem to be relishing in the fact that they were right all along.
“I’ve always suspected they’re a scam, which is why I never do them. I also saw someone point out that when a winner is announced, it’s often someone with a following,” one fan expressed on Reddit.
“Wow, Kim is going downhill fast,” another added.
Going forward, Kim Kardashian and Scott Disick may abstain from promoting any more luxury lotteries of the sort, but is it far too late to undo all the damage done? Only time will tell.
