Kanye West has officially begun his apology tour…sort of.

The rapper took to Good Morning America to talk about his perspective on his recent scandals and controversies, including his failed partnership with GAP.

“It was all kind of a disregard for the voice of something that I co-created,” West expressed to ABC News’ Linsey Davis. “I co-created the children. I co-created the product at Adidas. I co-created the product at Gap. And there’s a parallel. And the parallel does touch on discrimination.”

West was extremely vocal about his disdain for GAP during his Instagram meltdown a few weeks ago. His beef with the clothing brand got so bad that his legal team allegedly urged him to refrain from posting about GAP until the situation resolved itself. However, his frustration only grew stronger over time, hence why he is still standing his ground when it comes to his point of view on why the GAP collaboration fell apart.

Though he is more or less doubling down on his controversy with GAP, Kanye West is remorseful about yet another more pressing situation going on in his life presently–his separation from Kim Kardashian.

How Kanye West feels about Kim Kardashian after Instagram rant

Page Six reports that Kanye West is extremely apologetic about what he’s said about Kim Kardashian in the past few weeks, as well as how he approached the touchy situation regarding his and his ex-wife’s four kids.

“As a dad and as a Christian … I have a right to have a voice on what my kids are wearing, what they’re watching, what they’re eating,” West stated. “I have a platform where I get to say what so many dads can’t say out loud.”

In a now-deleted Instagram video, the “Closed on Sunday” singer told his millions of followers that he wasn’t “allowed” to attend his daughter Chicago’s birthday party. He explained why he believes the Kardashian-Jenners’ refusal to keep him in the loop was done purposely to portray him as an absent father to his kids and the world.

“Nobody [wants to] give me the address to my daughter’s birthday party right now, and that’s going to imprint in her mind that I wasn’t there for her,” West said in January 2022. “They take so many fathers just throughout America. They’ve been taking the fathers out the homes purposefully. So, I’m speaking up. I’m using my voice to say this ain’t going to keep happening.”

While West does feel that his opinions on the mistreatment of fathers in America are valid, he admits that the way he went about the situation was completely irresponsible and hurtful, especially to Kim Kardashian.

“This is the mother of my children, and I apologize for any stress that I have caused, even in my frustration, because God calls me to be stronger,” West said on Good Morning America. “I need this person to be less stressed and of the best, sound mind and as calm as possible to be able to raise those children at the end of the day.”

Kim Kardashian has yet to respond to Kanye West’s public apology, but once or if she ever does, we will be sure to inform you. Until then, watch West’s interview with Good Morning America here.
