Kardashian bombshell: Khloe reveals she turned down invite to the Met Gala

Khloe Kardashian wants to set the record straight about her Met Gala rumors.

For several years, Kardashian-Jenner fans have watched Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, and Kris Jenner dazzle across the Met Gala red carpet. Although Kourtney Kardashian has also never attended the event until recently, fans still couldn’t help but single out one Kardashian sister when it came to assuming they simply didn’t get an invitation — Khloe Kardashian.

In noticing that the Good American co-founder hadn’t appeared on the red carpet until this year’s event, fans started to theorize that Khloe simply never got invited to the event because Anna Wintour, head chair of the Met Gala, never extended the invite for whatever reason. But Khloe was quick to denounce these rumors on Twitter last year.

“Now that you are online please tell [if] the met gala rumors are true because I’ll burn that dinosaurs bones @khloekardashian please clarify thank u,” one fan asked, to which the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star firmly replied, “Absolutely NOT true.”

Months after the reality star’s clarification, Khloe was finally seen on the Met Gala red carpet in all her gold glam for the 2022 event. However, some fans still weren’t convinced Wintour invited the celebrity for a good reason. Rather, they believed she did so to avoid criticism.

Was Khloe Kardashian ever invited to the Met Gala in the past?

E! News reports that on the latest episode of The Kardashians, Khloe took to the confessional to fill us in on a little secret regarding her hesitance to go to the famed event. Turns out, she was extended an invitation in the past. Her cold feet just got in the way of her going.

“I have been invited in the past. I just opted not to go,” she revealed. “I’m not big on red carpets. I think I’ve made that very clear.”

Most likely, Khloe refrained from red carpets because of the hecticness that comes with it, especially when one is involved in a scandal or two. Nevertheless, Kim finally got her baby sister out of her anxieties, giving her the push she needed to attend the Met Gala.

“Good old Kimberly has a way with words,” the celebrity added. “And I am also sort of a pushover with some things and I guess I allowed her to push me over.”

Now that she’s gotten over her anxiety about the event, Khloe is bound to be a face we see many more times at the Met Gala. But even if she chooses to sit out the next time around, we’re glad we got to see her attend at least once. (Maybe we can get Rob Kardashian to go one year!)
