Julia Fox is probably one of the most unconventional celebrities we’ve had in a while. Not only does she do what she wants when she wants, but she also has her very peculiar reasons as to why she makes certain choices. Namely, who she chooses to date.

As we know, Fox dated musician Kanye “Ye” West. No one saw this couple coming, as these celebrities tend to run in different circles. Nevertheless, when they came together as one, it seemed that they were two peas in a pod. But when they called it quits in February 2022 after about a month of dating, fans were curious to know what even brought the two together in the first place.

At long last, Julia Fox shared some much-needed information about her relationship with Kanye West. Trust us when we say that her revelation is going to ruffle some feathers.

Why did Julia Fox date Kanye West?

Glamour Magazine reports that Julia Fox took to TikTok to clear the air about why she dated Kanye West after a fan called her out on her alleged problematic behavior.

“I just wish you weren’t dating a famously violent misogynist and antisemite,” a fan expressed to Fox, to which she replied, “I wanted to help [West]. I sounded almost as dumb as you guys, saying that I should’ve done something to stop him from saying—like, what? But anyway, I was delusional.”

She confirmed that when West took digs at Kim Kardashian‘s then-boyfriend, Pete Davidson, she thought it was the best time to attempt to “distract” West from his ex-wife’s new relationship.

“The only thing he had done was change the name in the song and said like, ‘Come back to me, Kimberly,'” Fox expressed. “But then I had this thought: I was like, ‘Oh, my God, maybe I can get him off of Kim’s case. Maybe I can distract him, just get him to like me and I knew if anyone can do it, it’s me.'”

After realizing that West wasn’t letting up on his controversial behavior, Fox reveals she finally understood that he was beyond help, hence why the two didn’t last as long as she had hoped.

While some fans were a tad turned off by the idea of Julia Fox inserting herself in a situation that was already messy to begin with, most relate to her sentiment and believe her intentions were in the right place.

“Hold. On. How are YOU responsible for a grown man’s action?! People need to fall back!!” one fan wrote. Another chimed in the comment section to state, “You shouldn’t have to explain yourself, you are not an extension of your ex.”
