Finding a cordial middle ground with an ex-partner is no easy feat; there’s no one who can attest to that than Kim Kardashian, the socialite whose life changed forever when she decided to officially separate from her ex-husband, Kanye “Ye” West.

For the past few months, we watched Kim struggle to make sense of West’s erratic behavior, some of which included the rapper insulting Kim, specifically her parenting style of her four children: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.

“I got love for the nannies, but real family is better,” West wrote in his song, “Eazy” featuring The Game. “The cameras watch the kids, y’all stop takin’ the credit.”

While Kanye may have seen this as a slight jab, for Kim Kardashian, this line in the song couldn’t be any more insulting, as she is doing her best to cope with the unfortunate situation both she and the children are currently in.

How Kim Kardashian co-parents with Kanye West

Yahoo! Entertainment reports that Kim Kardashian recently opened up about the highs and lows of her life during her interview with Angie Martinez on the podcast Angie Martinez IRL.

The many triumphs of her life include being a successful businesswoman and being able to change people’s lives with her passion for justice reform. However, sometimes, her tribulations with co-parenting overshadow her accomplishments.

“Co-parenting is hard. It’s really f**king hard,” Kim expressed. “I had the best dad, and I had the best memories and the greatest experience and that’s all I want for my kids as long as they can have that, that’s what I would want for them.”

Part of Kim’s difficulty with co-parenting stems from her desire to protect her children from their father’s problematic behavior because, though Kanye’s recent remarks have rubbed everyone the wrong way, Kim knows that she must make Kanye still look like a superhero for the sake of the kids.

“If they don’t know the things that are being said or what’s happening in the world, why would I ever bring that energy to them? That’s really heavy grown-up s**t that they’re not ready to deal with,” Kim continued. “One day my kids will thank me for sitting here and not bashing their dad when I could. All the crazy s**t. They’ll thank me and I’ll privately answer anything that they want to know. It’s not my place anymore to jump in.”

Kim’s efforts to protect her kids from social media can be seen in her and North’s, her eldest daughter, TikTok account.

Initially, this account was primarily run by the nine-year-old. But after Kanye expressed his anger toward his daughter for having unfiltered access to the internet and its inhabitants, Kim realized that she had to find a middle ground that pleases both North and Kanye.

To that end, she co-runs North’s TikTok account, @kimandnorth, and has since turned off the comments for all videos — yet another example of how difficult it can be to raise children when an ex-partner isn’t exactly being their best self or disagrees with everything you stand for.

“I definitely protected him and I still will in the eyes of my kids for my kids,” Kim added. “In my home, my kids don’t know anything that goes on in the outside world … I’m holding on by a thread. I know I’m so close to that not happening. While that’s still happening, I will protect that to the ends of the earth as long as I can.”

Kanye West hasn’t replied to Kim Kardashian’s recent sentiments. In fact, it seems the rapper has gone radio silent for the past several weeks. Why we haven’t heard a peep from him is unknown to us, but this new podcast episode may likely force him to break his silence
