Kanye West is under investigation with Ventura County police
Kanye West is no stranger when he is the center of controversy and scrutiny. Companies snipped ties with the rapper after voicing antisemitic remarks on his social media profiles. Then, the country Australia could refuse Kanye entry for those remarks. This time around, he is under investigation for alleged battery after he threw a woman’s phone. The incident occurred when the woman was videographing Kanye from her car, leading to a face-to-face altercation.
The event happened late Friday afternoon, January 27th, following his children’s (North and Saint) basketball game in Thousand Oaks, California, which he shares with ex-wife Kim Kardashian. She, too, attended her children’s game.
The video footage shows the woman sitting in her car with a small dog on her lap as she records Kanye’s actions approaching her. The woman is shaken up and tries to defend her actions verbally. It was then Kanye threw her phone into the street.
It’s unclear whether the woman was just a fan, bystander, or paparazzi, but she cooperated with the police when they arrived at the scene.
This wasn’t the only heated conflict Kanye was involved with the paparazzi. Earlier that day, photographers confronted the clothing designer in his car with his new wife in the passenger seat. The photographer said he was allowed to film because he and the other paparazzi were in an open and public place.
The paparazzi then circled Kim and asked her about her ex-husband’s investigation as she was putting her children in the car.
“Do not talk to me about that in front of my kids,” the Skims founder shot back, which garnered an apology from the paparazzi. The ordeal made one of her kids upset.
Last December, Kim spoke about the challenges of co-parenting with Kanye West and said, “It is really f—— hard.” She tries to protect the kids from any negative light on their dad and shield them from the news.
“If they don’t know things that are being said, why would I ever bring that energy to them?” Kim shared with Angie Martinez on her IRL podcast. “That is real, heavy, grownup s— that they are not ready to deal with. When they are, we will have those conversations. One day, my kids will thank me for not sitting here and bashing their dad.”
Kim and Kanye finalized their divorce in November 2022, with Kanye paying monthly child support of $200,000. The former couple shares North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.
