Kourtney Kardashian is grateful for her “mommy” Kris Jenner these days. The momager went all out when she planned meticulously for Kourtney’s baby shower. In her Instagram post from September 29th, the Poosh founder shared additional photos from the warm event.
In the group, Kourtney and her husband, Travis Barker, posed in the photo booth as they got their snaps taken: a clip of Kourtney releasing a Mickey balloon, a closeup of Baby Barker’s Mickey cake, and an adorable portrait of the Lemme founder sitting on Travis’s lap on the spacious lawn.
“Baby shower of my dreams✨,” Kourtney captions her post. “All the BTS pics and details @poosh. Thank you, Mommy @krisjenner, for turning your home into the happiest place on earth, instilling my love of all things Disney, and for throwing this baby shower for me and your thirteenth grandchild.”
Kourtney’s adorable post comes after her wellness company, Poosh, wrote about Kris’s “magic” behind the party and offered more sweet photos. Her mom took inspiration from a special edition of Life Magazine on the history and aesthetics of Disneyland, which opened in 1959 in Anaheim, California. With a Barbershop Quartet, pastel colors right out of Sleeping Beauty, and Mickey icons everywhere, the shower was a mini version of the theme park.
Although Kourtney let go to have her mom and sisters plan the party, she only had one small request.
The one request Kourtney Kardashian made for her baby shower
The only thing that Kourtney requested for her baby shower was to have Mickey Mouse-shaped soft pretzels with (vegan) nacho dip. The blend of soft baked dough with a salted crusty exterior is necessary for any party or event. We love pretzels, especially with a spicy honey mustard, or even plain is delicious.
Kourtney made another request: to have churros for a sweet treat.
The rocky road to Baby Barker
Before her baby shower, Kourtney and Travis had a rocky beginning to get pregnant. After an unsuccessful journey of IVF, the couple stopped treatments and focused on natural conceiving, and if it’s meant to be, then it’s meant to be.
And it indeed was when Kourtney announced at the Blink-182 show in June that she and Travis were pregnant. Taking a note from the band’s 1999 “All the Small Things” video, she waved a sign stating, “TRAVIS[!] I’M PREGNANT[!] to notify the world. More than a week later, the couple revealed they were having a boy at their gender reveal party. The sign and the party will be upcoming segments in the fourth season of The Kardashians, now streaming on Hulu.
While the pregnancy has been smooth for the most part, Kourtney was admitted to the hospital a few weeks ago to undergo urgent fetal surgery, a scary ordeal as you don’t want anything to happen to your child.
The reality star shared her story with a black-and-white photo of Travis holding her hand while she lay in a hospital bed. She thanked her mom for being by her side during the emergency.
“I will be forever grateful to my incredible doctors for saving our baby’s life. I am eternally grateful to my husband, who rushed to my side from the tour to be with me in the hospital and take care of me afterward, my rock. And to my mom, thank you for holding my hand through this,” Kourtney quoted.
Mom and baby made it out safe and sound and are counting down the days until they meet in person.
