Kris Jenner thought she was “Punk’d” by Kourtney Kardashian’s baby reveal

Kris Jenner may have called Rocky Thirteen Barker her “lucky thirteenth grandchild,” but she was shocked when she learned about Kourtney Kardashian’s baby reveal through the news. In the season 4 finale, Kris expressed her feelings regarding the concert reveal.

On June 17th, Kourtney publicly announced her and Travis Barker’s pregnancy at a blink-182 show in Los Angeles. While she meant no harm with her action because she felt Kris and Khloé didn’t care to have come, it hurt some feelings.

“I woke up, opened my eyes, and right in front of me because we had left the TV on the night before and woke up really early in the morning to see Kourtney holding a sign, and I thought I was being Punk’d,” Kris opens up. “And then I realized it was the ABC News.”

Despite the surprise reveal, Kris already knew about her eldest daughter’s pregnancy. However, she couldn’t shake off the feeling of being forgotten. The momager further elaborated when riding on the tour bus to her (and Khloé’s) very first blink-182 show in San Diego.

“She forgot that she had a family. That’s what [the] pregnancy brain does. It’s wild how that happens.”

Khloé jumped to her mother’s defense about the matter because whether she knew or not, Khloé felt that she and Kris should’ve known about Kourtney’s reveal.

“She found out [about the reveal] on the news, my mom. She wasn’t very happy, rightfully so,” Khloé said in her confessional on the episode. “When I said on Saturday, ‘Wow, Mom’s feelings are really hurt that you did this. And [Kourtney] was like, ‘I forgot!”

Kris Jenner gets invited to Kourtney Kardashian’s baby gender reveal one day ahead of the party

If the pregnancy reveal wasn’t punking enough for Kris, it was the invitation to Kourtney’s Baby Barker’s World Tour Gender Reveal a day before the event. At Kourtney’s house, she dropped the invite to Kris, who was surprised (again).

“So tomorrow, we are doing the gender reveal. If you guys, if anyone wants to come,” Kourtney says casually.

“You’re telling me the day before?” asks Kris. “That’s so Kourtney.”

The new mom had a perfect reason for the last-minute drop. The party was planned and put together in under 48 hours due to her husband’s one-day “pause” during his tour. The couple wanted to throw something together for their family and friends before Travis left for another show.

“I just found out,” Kourtney tells her mother. “Travis is making a detour on tour. He has 24 hours off. We’ve just been in ‘crazy’ planning mode. In the last 24 hours since we decided, it’s become a bigger thing. I thought we were having a cake, and the kids and whoever else wanted to come. But now, we [have] made it into this Baby Barker World Tour Gender Reveal.”

At the party, blue confetti and streamers exploded from cannons as Travis did a drumroll, indicating that the rockstar pair would be having a boy. Many party-goers, including sisters Kendall, Kylie, and Khloé, thought Kourtney was having a girl.

Rocky Barker made his way into the world on November 1st, 2023.
