Taylor Swift’s feud with Kim Kardashian felt like her career was taken away

In her candid interview with Time, Taylor Swift opened up regarding her feud with Kim Kardashian. It was back in 2016 when Kim’s ex-husband, Kanye West, leaked a phone call enclosed with West’s “Famous” lyrics. The moment left Swift, then 26 at the time, in a career fear.

While Taylor Swift, now a well-deserved billionaire, thanks to her record-smashing albums and world tours, now graces the honor of being “Time’s Person of the Year” for 2023, she shares in detail about what really happened between her, Kim, and Kanye. To back up, Kim posted an alleged edited version of the phone call on Snapchat, which caused Swift to spiral emotionally. It was about the derogatory words inscribed in the lyrics and Swift’s permission to West to use them. She denied that she gave consent, and the event nearly broke her.

“Make no mistake, my career was taken away from me,” Swift says in the interview published on December 6th. “You have a fully manufactured frame job in an illegally recorded phone call which Kim Kardashian edited and then put out to say to everyone that I was a liar. That took me down psychologically to a place that I’ve never been before. I moved to a foreign country. I didn’t leave the rental house for a year. I was afraid to get on phone calls. I pushed away most people in my life because I didn’t trust anyone anymore. I went down really, really hard.”

Kim, for her part, explained online in 2020 that her now ex-husband “forced her” into defending him and that she only shared clips from the call and not an edited version. When the full version was released, Swift and West could be heard conversing with one another, but the former kept her truth like an opened lid.

Three years later, Kim hasn’t brought up the discussion since and is now divorced from West. She bides her schedule wisely with running her businesses, filming The Kardashians and AHS, her family and kids, and realizing her dream as an attorney.

Where do Kim Kardashian and Taylor Swift currently stand after their feud?

Swift now has no hard feelings towards Kim and lives her life as she sees it. Plus, she’s dating KC Chiefs player Travis Kelce and supports him by attending his games. What she would like to have, though, is a public apology from the reality star, which Kim hasn’t done yet.

The two women have no connection as of right now, but hopefully, that’ll change.

Either way, as long as Kim and Swift are happy and thriving and have moved past the call, that’s all that matters.
