Khloé Kardashian has let go of the baggage from her 30s and is celebrating her 40th year with ferocity. As she should, because in just six short months, the mom of two released her first solo perfume, XO Khloé, and shared her fortune with Bustle Magazine.
Once known as "the fat and funny sister" of the Kardashian-Jenner family, Khloé not only transformed herself physically by shedding pounds but also shed excess emotional weight by changing her mindset and taking on a more positive outlook on life. It's the only way to live happily, which will benefit not only Khloé but also her two children, True Thompson and Tatum Thompson, with whom she shares with her ex-partner, Cleveland Cavaliers star Tristan Thompson.
The reality star sat down with Bustle's Charlotte Owen for an intimate interview and participated in a seductive, if expressive photo shoot. Khloé shared several of the shoot's snaps on her Instagram, giving her followers a peek of her new lease on life.
Khloê Kardashian nearly reveals all in Bustle Magazine's photo shoot
On Tuesday, December 3rd, Khloé and Bustle shared the photos from the shoot. We love confident women, and the snaps certainly convey that vibe. The first one is the cover photo, where Khloé wears a green overcoat over black lingerie. Paparazzi surround her as they snap photos, recalling her early days of fame when Keeping Up With Kardashians was in its freshman year.
The second is when the Good American founder sits in a Medterranian-style bathroom. The black sink top matches her corset and is topped with makeup brushes and a Bettie Page mug. The next three depict Khloé as a sultry '50s era 'housewife' as she cleans the home in a cream-colored bra and boy shorts in matching heels and holding a soft pink feather duster.
The third photo is in a black and white filter, with Khloé holding a brightly colored image of herself lying on a velvet couch. In contrast to the 'alarming' picture, Khloé kneels in her office with a shocked expression while dressed in a leopard-printed bra, knee-length skirt, and matching pumps. For accessories, she wears a pair of glasses.
Khloé then channels her inner Playboy Bunny with the classic white bunny ears, and pearls for the fourth and last photo.
"Excited to share my Bustle cover story! Charlotte Owen and I talked all things 40's, fragrance, and podcasts," she writes in the caption.
Bustle additionally shared three more images of the entrepreneur, one similar to the paparazzi photo and a black-and-white version of the bathroom snap, except Khloé's looking at herself in the mirror. The third one is the modified Bunny and Pearl piece, but Khloé appears asleep. We get a close-up look at her glam: a smokey rose cocoa eye, false lashes, and a shimmering gold-pink lip.
The publication credits the team behind the layot and a qoute from Khloé in the caption.
Khloé Kardashian open up on what turning 40 meant to her
When Owens asked the multi-layered woman what the experience was like for turning 40 and letting go of everything to embrace the new version, Khloé had the following response:
"My sisters Kourtney and Kim both said . When you’re young, you think 40 is so old, and now I’m like, “Wait — I feel so good!” I am in the best shape of my life. I’m doing new career stuff. I’ve only been 40 for about six months, but it’s the absolute best. You don’t give a s*** about some of the stuff you once did. Intentionally, at 39, I tried to close a lot of chapters. I called it shedding— shedding this decade of my 30s and this energy I wanted to leave behind. There are so many new things that I’m doing in my first year of 40 that I know for a fact my 40s and on are going to be f****** incredible."
