Kim Kardashian and North West fashionably arrive at the Venice Film Festival

It's another mother-daughter fashion moment in the making, as Kim Kardashian and her daughter, North West, stepped out for the 82nd Venice Film Festival on August 28. It's the first time for the 12-year-old to attend the event, and she made quite the impression. But when does she not?

In photos obtained by Backgrid, the reality star is on her way to the festival dresses in a form-fitting black dress with a midriff cutout and halter neckline with an added hood. Meanwhile, North complements Kim in a gray and black pinstriped two-piece minidress with short sleeves and accented with lace. She accessorized it with chunky and studded knee-high boots, a matching handbag, and glasses.

But the Japanese Gothic Harajuku style-inspired outfit was the thing that caught our eyes. It was North's uniquely bright turquoise-color hair, which was set in two pigtails. Like many girls her age, the aspiring fashionista enjoys experimenting with different hair shades and finding the best one for the moment. The cool blue-green shade does wonders for North's skin tone, and highlights her eyes in a soft way that contrats with the rest of her garment.

The look comes days after North rose criticism for her corset top and skirt. Many people commented tht the outfit was "too revealing" for a young girl, and slammed Kim for allowing her child to go out in public like that. At the same time, while the backlash from others is to be expected, I'm sure that Kim has North in the best hands when determining her choices.

Kim Kardashian also attends the DVF Awards

On the same days as the festival, Kim attended the 16th DVF Awards or the Diane Von Furstenberg Awards, as she'll be the honoree recipient for The DVF Leadership Award for her work in the Anti-Recidivism Coalition. It's a special highlight for Kim, as we all know that she holds a passion for prison reform and second chances to nonviolent offenders.

According to the website, the ceremony's purpose is celebrating the women who has "the courage to fight, the strength to survive and the leadership to inspire."

For the occasion, the SKIMS founder wore a draping gray gown that pinched in her waist and showed off her arms. In her Instagram Stories on Thursday, the mother of four gave more photos of her piece and credited the French label, Maison Margiela, for its design.

The Venice trip is the second one for Kim this year. In June, she attended the Bezos wedding with Khloê, Kris Jenner, Kendall, and Kylie Jenner.
