Kim Kardashian has received some life-changing medical news, following a routine health scan. The event was projected as a coming-up segment for an episode of The Kardashians season 7, now streaming on Hulu. Now, the mother of four must take precautions so that no complications from her new diagnosis occur.
For anyone, being given any medical news, especially when it becomes life-threatening, it can dramatically alter a person's course. However, there are preventive measures that can be taken to ensure that the condition doesn't worsen.
In the preview clip, Kim undergoes an MRI at her doctor's office for a routine checkup. Following the results, the reality star is shocked when she heard the news.
"There's a little aneurysm," she says to her sister, Kourtney. She's just as surprised as Kim, as anyone would be. Since the Kardashian sisters are all close, they feel each other's fear and well-being.
"Whoa," was Kourtney's response, a mix of concern, shock, and reality.
As for the cause of Kim's aneurysm, the doctors and her place it on stress and the ongoing personal battle, involving her ex-husband, Kanye West. The latter hasn't been around for their four children in months, and Kim, for her part, is trying to protect them, as a mother would.
Later in the premiere, Kim additionally addressed that her psoriasis has return, something that she hasn't experienced since her divorce three years ago. The skin condition is an immune disorder, recognized by its scaly and thick dry skin patches. Common areas include the arms, legs, back, and stomach, but can appear in the scalp and neck.
In the confessional, the SKIMS founder revealed that she felt she had Stockholm Syndrome and further addressed her protection issues. Now that they are at a age where they can pretty much see everything happening with their father, Kim's protection subsided.
"I was pretty tested. Very tested [that] I have psoriasis again. I felt it, I felt more stressed, probably because I had to super, super protect what I had to protect. My kids are involved now. This is the first time I think one of my kids knew what was happening. I’ve been able to hide it for so long. I always felt like I had a little bit of Stockholm Syndrome [with Kanye] to where I always felt really bad and always protected and always wanted to help, and this was the first time I didn’t feel like responsibility personally.”

How Kim Kardashian's aneurysm diagnosis can bring awareness
Aneurysms are small bulges in blood vessels, often located in the abdomen, brain, or heart. Genetics, birth defects, and high blood pressure play a role in the causes, but stress can increase the symptoms, which includes headaches, vision, and nausea, in the case of brain aneurysms. Yet, some people feel no symptoms.
When an aneurysm ruptures, it can lead to a stroke or death, but surgical options are available to help prevent it. Yet, monitoring health, regular doctor visits, MRI scans, and medications could also prevent ruptures.
Kim's diagnosis should be taken seriously, and with good practices, the issue can be controlled to live a full and long life.
