Kim Kardashian shocks us with a Y2K piercing trend: 'Life lately'

In an early episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kim Kardashian said, "You don't put a bumper sticker on a Bentley." She also applied this logic to what goes on her body but had since modified it by getting a tattoo on her inner bottom lip. She revealed the new ink to her hair stylist, Chris Appleton, in season 3 of The Kardashians.

While we were stunned at the transformation, it's not world-breaking, as Kim stepped out of her comfort zone and did something to commemorate her Saturday Night Live appearance in 2021. Some might steal something off the set or snap a selfie, but Kim got a tattoo and a nine-month-long relationship with Pete Davidson from her experience. Talk about the appreciation "prizes."

Now, the mother of four revealed another body secret that none of us knew until she revealed it. Again, it's not a big deal, but like the tattoo, it's a step for Kim, as it reeled us back to the Bentley quote. The look is definitely from the Y2K period, as several young women, including myself, wanted to get pierced. However, I was afraid of infection due to my hyper-sensitive skin, so I backed out.

In her November 18th Instagram post, Kim uploaded a carousel filled with photos from the past few weeks. We all know she has an overloaded work schedule, whether it's for one of her brands, an event, or getting ready for the holidays, as she and her family love to host their annual Christmas Eve soiree. Having a few minutes of downtime to unwind is a rarity for Kim, so she enjoys it while she can.

The carousel includes two photos from Kris's birthday. Kim, her four kids, and her equally busy mother are wearing matching Kris pajamas as the family smiles for the snaps. More sweet pics are that of Chicago, wearing her Hello Kitty pajamas and kitty ears while she sits beside her mother.

Yet, it's the middle photo that stands out above the rest- not that I'm bringing down the family pictures, as they're most important- but Kim brought back her belly button piercing, and it stuck with several of her fans. To be clear, she got the piercing before Keeping Up With Kardashians premiered in 2007, and in her pre-fame photos with Paris Hilton, her piercing was displayed, which was a diamond sparkler.

She has since cooled down, as her iconic gem hasn't been shown until now. It could be the fact that the Y2K aesthetic has been revived, or Kim's going back to her younger self but still holds her current mindset. We all want to go back to our pasts, and considering they're valuable, why not?

Her latest midriff gem is a simple diamond, which is showcased when Kim is wearing a pair of gray sweatpants that show off her ridiculously toned stomach and pink top.

For the caption, the reality star simply states:

"Life lately."

Kim's life has been on the uptick lately, as she launched the holiday collection for SKKN and the SKIMS x Dolce and Gabbana collab this week.

It's great to keep busy though.
