Kourtney Kardashian is celebrating her daughter, Penelope Disick, as she officially became a teenager on July 8. That's right, she turned thirteen, and she's going to experience a new phase in her life that's going to be emotionally complex. We all have been there at that point, so it's relatable.
As Penelope enters this milestone, Kourtney will be keeping up with her daughter's adventures, as she should, because as a mom, you want to be there for your kids in every aspect. And she has, so far, as the Poosh founder shared photos via Instagram, as she celebrates Penelope's Big 13.
Now, when it comes to birthdays, the Kardashians pull out all the stops to make it special and memorable, and Penelope is no exception. She spent her Sun Rotation Day in Italy, and it extended to London, as her stepfather, Travis Barker, was performing a few shows. Despite traveling across the globe, the party was simple and didn't have all the bells and whistles that you'd typically see at a Kardashian party. But maybe it's because Penelope is phasing out of the more fanciful affairs and opting for simpler ones. One element remains the same, though, is that there is plenty of family love to go around!

On July 12, Kourtney uploaded a Carousel documenting Penelope's celebration and the Italian getaway, with piles of bronze and pink balloons. The first slide is of the newly appointed 13-year-old, wearing a yellow long-sleeved top and matching shorts. She wears a pair of snappy glasses and has a black and white handbag as her accessories.
Penelope then shows up twice more in the post, as she sits on the windowsill gazing out, wearing a striped tee and flowing pink skirt with flip-flops. The third reveal is a clip of the birthday girl blowing out the candles of her rose-topped cake. A second cake is additionally served and is topped with berries, with the text reading, "Happy birthday, Penelope."
The last slide is a lovely display of fireworks of the Italian coastline, as if it's concluding the trip.
In the caption, Kourtney describes the love for her daughter.
"My little lady is 13. Being her mommy is one of the greatest things I have ever done. She inspires me to be a better person every day. I wont ever have the words for how much joy and love she brings to my life. She is the cooooolesssst!"
On July 8, Kourtney uploaded a selfie of her and Penelope as a baby on her IG Stories. Just like her mom, she's a big fan of Minnie Mouse and has the little mouse ears and bow painted above her eyes. The Lemme founder plants a kiss on her daughter as they both peer at the lens.
In the second photo, balloons "litter" the hotel floor, as the celebrations are about to take place.
