2025 has been a big year for Mariah Carey! She's making a comeback to the music scene with her upcoming album, Here For It All, dropping on September 26, and its first two singles, "Type Dangerous" and "Sugar Sweet," are Billboard Chart Toppers. HFIA will be her first album in seven years, and a piece of her most challenging work yet!

Earlier this week, on September 7, the "Heartbreaker" singer took home the glorious Vanguard Music Award for her decades-long career at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, or the VMAs. During her acceptance for the coveted gold Moonman (and her performance), Mariah dressed in a champagne and gold bodysuit sparkling with crystals with 3/4 sleeves and a modest plunge. She then accessorized the custom outfit with matching knee-high boots and jewelry.

According to the exclusive report with Page Six, the 204.38-carat diamond “Rosée Éternelle” necklace and earrings from the jeweler Levuma were priced at $10 million. That's a lot of bling and sparkle for one night, but seeing how Mariah was honored at the ceremony, the diamonds were justified.

In her acceptance speech, Mariah expressed gratitude to MTV after Ariana Grande handed the statue to her. And to date, this award marks the singer's very first VMA win, so it was a momrnt in the making.

"Thank you so much, MTV, for giving me the Vanguard Award! I can't believe that I am getting my first VMA tonight!"

Before Grande presented her mentor the Vanguard, Mariah took the stage to perform a blend of her most iconic hits. These included the 1999 track, "Heartbreaker," 2005's "We Belong Together," 1995's "Always Be My Baby," and many more. She stole the crowd's undivided attention, as they absorbed MTV history and a pinnacle of her career.

Clips from her past music videos were put on display, symbolizing just how far Mariah has come since the very late 1980s. Her success wasn't without the roadblocks, as she faced her critics and the toxicity that often comes in the music industry. Once she tackled it, everything that she touched turned to glitter and gold.

Hopefully, this first VMA Moonman won't be Mariah's last, but we have a feeling that it won't be. She still has several musical projects left to pursue in her young life. And the fans will love them!
