Kim Kardashian is well-known for her fashion sense, especially her choices in the early Y2K era. She wore many pieces from her DASH Boutique, and while they're not the popular, high-end designer duds Kim is known for, the DASH fashions were a trademark of their own. In fact, the red dress she wore for the title opening of Keeping Up With The Kardashians back in 2007 was from her boutique. Ah, nostalgia!

Yet, the reality star can revisit a specific fashion period whenever her heart desires. Whether it'd be the 1990s or the 1980s, she knows how to pull it off. Why? Because Kim has that influence to rebirth something that's from the fashion vaults.

What piece from the Y2K era did Kim resurface now?

In a new Instagram post, Kim is bringing back a classic trend from the 2007-2009 period. Comfortable and stylish, she is sporting black calf-length or capri leggings. She paired the pants with a solid kitten-gray halter top. It's the perfect, cool summer night look, and the SKIMS founder wore the outfit while boating on Jeff Bezos' yacht, Koru, a few weeks ago.

In the five-slide carousel, Kim is in several different poses as the yacht sails into the glowing sunset. Her dark hair is styled in loose waves, and she kept her glam minimal with a bronzed cheek and nude lip. It definitely gives off that late Y2K vibe, an era when Kim's fame skyrocketed.

I get why Kim wants to make leggings iconic again, as they're comfortable, can go with multiple clothes, improve blood circulation, and if you're into cosplay, leggings can about go with any costume. In March this year, I had fun cosplaying The 100's Octavia Blake (Marie Avgeropoulos) at Conageddon in her season one jumper outfit. Underneath the dress, she wore a pair of capri leggings, but to make it distinctly mine, the leggings I wore had side zippers.

When her star was on the rise, Kim and her sisters were spoke models for a handful of different fashion companies in the late Y2K era. They included Sketchers Shoes, Bongo Jeans, Shoe Dazzle, and the now-defunct fashion line for Sears, the Kardashian Kollection. To help endorse the brands, Kim wore the products in photographic ads and attended press-related events. The best part she got from it was spending time with her sisters and strengthening their bonds.
