Taylor Swift and her KS Chiefs boyfriend, Travis Kelce, will not be attending the 2024 Met Gala, and we Swifties are slightly disappointed. We'll miss her glamorous gown pick and her strutting down the Red Carpet, rubbing elbows with the other guests, and creating magical moments that only Taylor is capable of.
The last time Taylor went to the "Biggest Night in Fashion" was in 2016. She blown us away with her punk-rock robotic tiered gown and strappy black heels. For makeup, she donned a smokey eye, and a black lip that only the few could pull off.
But the Grammy winner has a solid reason why she won't be at the prestigious event. She'll be prepping for the European branch of her ERAS World Tour, which kicks off on May 9th in Paris and runs through the continent and the UK until August. Attending the Met would be a tight fit between rehearsals, costume fittings, travel, and the final checkmark to make the tour successful.
Per TMZ, an insider dropped the details of Taylor's absence, as she responded "no" to the RSVP invitation, which is a very coveted item, and you're lucky if you receive it.
Without Taylor in tow, Travis's appearance is also a great big "no," but there's a good chance that his teammate and friend, Patrick Mahomes, and his wife, Brittany, will be there. The couple attended the 2023 edition (their first), which had the theme "Karl Lagerfeld." For the night, Brittany chose a white off-the-shoulder gown with silver trim, while her husband kept it casual and cool with a tux and added a chain necklace that complemented his wife's fashion choice.
Who said you can't mix sports with haute couture fashion? The Mahomes made it fun and doable.
Who has been confirmed to attend the 2024 Met Gala?
While we won't see Taylor, there'll be plenty of other celebrities to watch out for. Kendall Jenner checked "yes" on her invitation, so she'll definitely be walking the 2024 Met's Red Carpet. As for her sisters, Kim Kardashian will likely join her, as she has the past few years, but there is no word yet if Kourtney, Khloé, Kylie, or their mom, Kris, will be going.
One thing for sure, though, is that there are going to be tons of fashion moments. With this year's theme being "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion," it'll be interesting to see what styles from past eras are resurrected.
