The Kardashians season 5: Everything we know!
The Kardashians will open up their lives again for all the world to see later this month for season 5 on Hulu. Through thick and thin, the infamous family has stuck together, dealing with whatever life throws at them. And they do it with a ferocity that no one else possesses while keeping it real.
Kim, Kourtney, Khloé, Kendall, Kylie, and Kris have kept the cameras rolling since season 4 wrapped up back in November. In case you need to catch up, the last episode chronicled Kourtney and Travis Barker's rockstar gender reveal party. The happy couple discovered the sweet surprise that they were expecting a boy after blue bio-degradable streamers exploded from cannons. A few weeks earlier, Rocky Thirteen Barker was born.
Season 5 will catch us all up with what the Kardashians have been doing since. Of course, the sisters and their equally famous mom have been updating fans with social media posts and making Red Carpet appearances. While we have our wishes regarding what we want to see in the upcoming season, viewers could see Kim's recent visit to the White House or Kravis's date night at the Emmys.
Then, there's the adorable addition of Baby Kitty, which True Thompson received as a birthday present from her mom, Khloê. Having this as a potential storyline would give The Kardashians a softer aesthetic, as it'll tone down some of the family's drama. But all families have drama in some form or another, so who am I to judge dynamics?
With season 5 creeping up, here's everything to know about it.
The Kardashians season 5: What we know so far
The premiere date
Hulu dropped the fifth season date back in March, and it's set for Thursday, May 23rd. Yet, if you can't wait to tune until then and you live west of the Eastern Time zone, you can watch it early as Wednesday evening.
The season will then air weekly both on Hulu and Disney+, thanks to its recent merger. The season finale will air on July 25th.
The trailer
Along with the date, a fifteen-second teaser trailer was released. While it didn't offer much to go on in terms of storylines and scenes from the season, it displayed the women grazing in the desert. They were dressed in formal gowns and heels (which makes my desert look of jean shorts, boots, and flannel shirts with tanks boring) as the night shifts to day.
Per the tagline, it reads, "New Horizons Await." The descriptor could mean anything, but if we're to break it down in its meaning, it could reflect that the family has encountered several changes since season 4. Considering the theory, it makes sense, seeing how Kourtney welcomed her fourth child and Kim's expansion of her SKIMS line. Or Kylie's highly publicized romance with actor Timothée Chalamet.

No word yet on the full-length trailer, but as soon as it's released, Kardashian Dish will report it.
The poster
On May 2nd, Hulu and Disney+ dropped the full-colored poster for The Kardashians. It reflects the trailer in its style, but it also reminded me of a charity photoshoot from 2015 where the celebrities dressed in formal attire pretty much and posed in a post-apocalyptic desert.
It was a great photo op, and having the poster a reminder was warming.
The episode count
Like its predecessors, season 5 will have a 10-episode block. As The Kardashians is a reality show, it wasn't affected by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes last year. However, Kim did receive some harsh backlash for working on AHS Delicate, another show that wasn't fully impacted. Later filming was delayed, and there was a shorter season due to the strikes catching up.
What will season 5 entail?
Season 5 is expected to be filled with drama and surprises that the Kardashians are known for, but there is an official synopsis.
"Just when you think life can't get any faster in the Kardashian-Jenner family, they punch it into overdrive. From the big screen to baby bliss, the family continues to defy expectations in all their endeavors. Cameras roll as Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, Kendall, and Kylie navigate contentious sister dynamics, all under the watchful eye of everyone's favorite matriarch, Kris."
