As we await the wedding of Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and her beau, Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) in Bridgerton season 3 part 2, which drops exclusively on Netflix on June 13th, we can prep ourselves by tuning in with its soundtrack. Famous and chart-topping artists have made the tracklist, creating a satisfying orchestra to the drama.
Naturally, the first portion of season 3 contained a soundtrack of classical pieces intricately crafted into covers of modern hits, including Taylor Swift, BTS, and Ariana Grande. Past seasons had Madonna, Miley Cyrus, and Whitney Houston. Bridgerton is a period drama set in the Regency Era in London, and for those wanting to know the specific years, it's 1811 to 1820. However, some historians believe the era extended to 1837, so creating covers into orchestral compositions was a natural fit. Doing so created a modern air while keeping the 19th century intact.
Before exploring the songs that made the part 3 soundtrack, let's briefly recap what happened in part 1, as it's essential to get you up to carriage speed.
In part 1, which dropped on May 16th, Penelope and Colin sparked up their romance, much to the surprise of everyone, and concluded with Colin's proposal to Penelope. For the Polin shippers, it's the ultimate dream come true. At the same time, Penelope tries hard to keep her alter ego of Lady Whistledown to herself, and it continues to be a significant conflict in part 2.
All the songs on the Bridgerton season 3 part 2 soundtrack
For the first time in Bridgerton history, an original song, "All I Want," will be part of the soundtrack. The tune was written by Rogét Chahayed, Nicole Cohen, Taylor Dexter, and Wesley Singerman and performed by Grammy winner Tori Kelly, who has already sung the song at the Bridgerton Fan Wedding and reflected how special it was to contribute to the event and the show.
""Performing at the wedding was such a magical experience. Every detail of it was so thought out and it felt so special. I’m just honored that I was able to be a small part of such a beautiful day. The fact that this is the first time an original song has been a part of Bridgerton makes the whole experience feel even more special! Really, I’m so excited that I get to be a part of this amazing show in my own way."
"All I Want" will then be converted into a classical piece, as it keeps the era realistic yet sits with modern audiences. Along with the track, covers of Coldplay's "Yellow," Imagine Dragons' "Thunder," and Taylor Swift's "You Belong With Me" are to be included.
