ABC's Dancing With The Stars is currently stepping into its 34th season! With contestants Robert Irwin, Danielle Fishel, and Elaine Hendrix, it's two hours of witnessing what they bring to the Ballroom in terms of their dancing abilities and a good-hearted escape from the world's harsh realities. While these people and their fellow competitors all tried their best, only one couple could win the coveted Mirrorball Trophy! At the end of the day, it's about breaking out of your comfort zone and gaining a new perspective on yourself.
There was a time when Kim Kardashian and her brother, Rob Kardashian, competed on Dancing With The Stars, although on separate seasons. Yes, I was shocked as you were when I first heard the news, as the Kardashians are widely known for their reality TV work in the late 2000s and early 2010s (and continue to do so). But the siblings gave it their all, even if neither claimed the champion title. Out of the pair, it was Rob who vastly improved during his time on the show, while Kim was self-aware of her surroundings. Despite this, I give her credit for trying and exploring new territory.
DWTS certainly evolved over its seasons and has incorporated even more dance routines to keep everyone on their toes. As for Kim and Rob, we're looking back on their time on the show!
Kim Kardashian was on Dancing With The Stars season 7
Kim was partnered with professional dancer Mark Ballas in 2008, and in the above clip, the couple performed the Rumba. For a few minutes, she allowed herself to try to let go and move in with the steps and music. She admitted on Keeping Up With The Kardashians that dancing wasn't her vibe, but surrendered to her family's pressure to compete.
Yet, being a "big fan of the show" probably gave her a confidence boost and the push to perform. Not everyone has the courage to burst open the door and attempt things that they're unfamiliar with.
Kim was eliminated the third week, but at least she got to wear dazzling costumes during her time on DWTS.
Rob Kardashian did his thing on Dancing With The Stars season 11
Rob fared far better than Kim did when he was a contestant in 2011. Partnered with Cheryl Burke, he came in second place and was the most improved dancer that season. He beat out NSYNC's Lance Bass, who has years of dancing experience under his belt. If you can do better than a pop star, then you've got to be doing something right.
No hard feelings, though, to Lance, but watching Rob step up his game and away from the shadows of KUWTK was a whole other feeling. He has talent for sure, and he was able to channel it into a fun and energizing outlet.
