Rihanna welcomes her third child with ASAP Rocky and the name is the sweetest

Rihanna and her long-term partner, ASAP Rocky, have just added to their family! The couple already are parents to 3-year-old RZA and 2-year-old Riot, their sons, whom they welcomed in 2022 and 2023, respectively. Now, the superstars added a daughter to the mix and could not have been more over the moon!

The happy mother shared the joyful news with the world via Instagram on September 24. In the two picture posts, Rihanna lies in bed, holding her new baby girl, who is swathed in pink. In the second snap, it's a pair of tiny baby boxing gloves in the same pastel color.

It's a significant moment for Rihanna, as she has longed for a daughter. The little one comes after her mom made her big reveal at the 2025 Met Gala in New York back in May. At that time, she was approximately five months pregnant and wore a dramatic two-piece suit that accentuated her growing baby bump.

Now, four months later, she's finally meeting her baby face-to-face. As it turns out, Baby Mayers was actually born twelve days ago (as of this writing), and before she made her social media debut, Rihanna and ASAP Rocky, along with their two older children, spent some time bonding and cooing over her.

And her name? The new mom made it very clear in the caption. It's a likely play on Rocky's own name, connecting the two together.

"Rocki Irish Mayers. Sept 13 2025. 🎀"

Quickly, the proud new papa went to the comments, calling both his partner and his daughter, his "lil ladies."

ASAP Rocky always to be a 'girl dad'

Rihanna's post follows a day after ASAP Rocky expressed his wish to have a girl in his interview for the October edition of Elle Magazine. That's perfect timing, if I ever saw it, but it is what it is, and that's how celebrity-ism often works. The reason is that the formulation results in a days-long discussion and coverage.

But, until the time of Rocki's birth, the rapper didn't know her gender.

“I hope it’s a girl. I really do. We’re praying for a girl. Our first time, we wanted to know the sex of the baby. The second time, we didn’t want to know. [The] third time, we don’t want to know until, you know. I feel like it’s going to be a girl. This pregnancy is so different from the other two. You can tell from the experience. I hope it’s a baby girl, man. I need that.”

It appears that ASAP Rocky got his wish!
