Taylor Swift is extending a helping hand and her heart to the victims of Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton. Both ferocious storms devastated Florida and several other Southern States in the past few weeks, nearly wiping away everything that people owned and taking lives.
Swift has always been always an enormous believer in philanthropy, so her donation comes as no surprise to her legions of fans. It's just who she is, and while she is now the wealthiest female musical artist, the title doesn't eliminate Swift's generous power. During the UK leg of her ERAs Tour in June, she donated nearly 11,000 meals at the Cardiff Foodbank. The amount will be supplemented with three daily meals for 1,200 people for three days.
Last December, Swift gave $1 million to the Tennessee Emergency Response Fund for the deadly tornado outbreak. According to Fox 17 WZTV in Nashville, thirteen tornadoes touched down across the area and several other counties in the state. Her donatation was able to provide food, clothing, temporary shelter, and other necessities to the victims
Now, a couple of days after Hurricane Milton, Swift is continuing her belief of giving.
Taylor Swift makes a major donation to Feeding America to help hurricane victims
Swift acted of kindness on Wednesday, October 9th, by donating $5 million to the nonprofit Feeding America. In response, Feeding America thanked the pop star for her support in an Instagram post. Above the heartfelt text is an illustration of friendship beads with a heart center inside green and orange beads, the colors of Feeding America.
The text is as follows:
"We're incredibly grateful to Taylor Swift for her generous $5 million donation to Hurricane Helene and Milton relief efforts. This contribution will help communities rebuild and recover, providing essential food, clean water, and supplies to people affected by these devastating storms. Together, we can make a real impact in supporting families as they navigate the challenges ahead. Thank you, Taylor, for standing with us in the movement to end hunger and for helping communities in need."
Swift's kindness only continues to expand, and we love to see it .In this year alone, she donated more than $2 million (estimate) to charity, and those who received the funding are grateful.
How you could help Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton victims
Many people do what they can to help, including traveling to the affected areas and setting up local fundraisers. Then, there are direct charitable contributions to official 501c3 nonprofits. These nonprofits are probably the easiest way of assistance and are officially backed by the IRS.
If you are able to, consider these options:
- The Humane Society of the United States (animal welfare)
- World Central Kitchen of the Southeastern United States (providing food and meals)
