Kim Kardashian has definitely reclaimed her princess title in the March 13th episode of The Kardashians, “Kim and Khloé Take India.” She and her sister, Khloé Kardashian, attended the elaborate wedding of Avant Amani and Rashida Merchant in Mumbai last July. Kim and Khloé wore bright and colorful Indian wedding fashions designed by Indias’s own Manish Malhotra.

To say that the women weren’t handed the royal treatment would be a lie. During an Indian wedding, guests are treated exceptually well. Especially at a wedding crafted for one of India’s leading corporate families. The Amani-Merchant event was a lavish event affair, and Kim and Khloé were star (and many others) witnesses to the couple’s vows.

As for Kim, she’s fully embracing her Princess Side at the wedding, resurrecting her Y2K personality. For fans who have been following Kim since then, she was rocking the trend of the era, which included gems, dark shades, and the Juicy Couture velour tracksuits.

These days, Kim’s princess vibe has been upgraded, as she swapped Juicey for Balenciaga and Dolce, and sparkles in head-to-toe Lorraine Schwartz jewelry for when she does the Red Carpets. Honestly, I don’t think Kim will retire her princess persona, but there will moments that will further enunciate it.

“Kim and Khloé Take India” opened with the sisters arriving and giving a tour of their extravagant suite at the Taj Mahal Palace. Inside the marble walls, there were bedrooms decorated with thr highest quality furniture and bedding, an office, a living room with even more luxury furniture, and a spa/gym room.

The sisters were impressed by all of it, and Khloé described it a “palace in the sky.”

Then they were fitted for their wedding wardrobe, created by the Ambani family’s designers, and pre-approved by them. Kim and Khloé each have different looks for the 48-event, so time is compressed. However, the work on the gowns was mostly finished, and the last step was to get fitted into them.

Kim’s ruby red outfit had Swarovski tassels stitched in and it bared her toned stomach. Khloé’s gown was also a two-piece and was in a cheerful pink shade. To complete the formalwear, the reality stars will be dripping in jewels by Lorraine Schwartz. Schwartz is a friend of the Ambani family, who invited Kim and Khloé to the wedding, despite not knowing them.

When Kim steps out in her second red Lahenga, she says to Khloé,

“Was I meant to be a princess, or what?”

When out shopping for family gifts, the streets were a completely different world than inside the palace. Kim actually believed that it would be a scene from 1992’s Aladdin. Yet, she didn’t allow the reality affect her time, and the fact that it was raining.

During the actual ceremony, the sisters were in awe over the floral arrangements and the displays of animals. What’s more, is despite all of the opulence, the Amani financially gave back to their community. As the family is blessed, they feel that they should share their blessings.

Kim and Khloé had nothing but good things to say about India and its people. Not even a missing diamond from Kim’s neckace could dampen the mood. The gem was never found, by the way.

“I just feel like Princess Jasmine,” Kim says at the episode’s conclusion. “This is where I’m meant to be.”
