When it comes to live shows, Kanye West doesn’t disappoint. On Saturday (May 9), Yeezy gave an electrifying performance at KIIS FM’s “Wango Tango” concert at the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif.
According to Billboard, the G.O.O.D. Music leader performed 15 of his biggest hits during his 40-minute set. Kanye started the show with “Black Skinhead,” which is from his 2013 album, Yeezus.
Then the rapper plowed through some of his anthemic songs like “I Don’t Like,” “Power,” “Mercy” and “Stronger.” Kanye also dug into his catalog and performed some of his older hits like “Jesus Walks,” “Touch the Sky,” “Good Life,” “Gold Digger” and more.
“I know everybody at the radio station is is scared I might talk some shit tonight,” he reportedly said before slowing down the pace with his heartbreaking ballad “Heartless.” Kanye also brought out an MPC to perform “Runaway.”
Oddly enough, Kanye didn’t deliver his usual annoying rant or as he calls them, motivational speeches. The 37-year-old rapper even self-censored some of his songs for the young teens in the audience. How nice of him.
The young fans who packed StubHub Center didn’t seem to mind though as they were singing every lyric to Kanye’s hit songs. Celebrities spotted in the audience included Justin Bieber, Big Sean and Nick Jonas. Mysteriously absent was Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian. But according to reports, Kimmy was away on a business trip to Brazil.
To close out the set, Kanye performed his braggadocios anthem “All Day,” much to the crowd’s delight. Overall, ‘Ye’s concert should help build more excitement for his upcoming album, which is now titled SWISH.
