Kanye West closed out the 2015 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday (May 17) with a two-song medley of “All Day” and “Black Skinhead” that garnered plenty mixed reactions, including boos from the audience.

Kanye’s sisters-in-law, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, introduced his performance and, according to Billboard, they were booed during the introduction.

‘Ye kicked off his set with his bombastic anthem “All Day” in front of fiery pyrotechnics. There was so much pyro onstage that it was difficult to see Kanye rock the mic. In addition, the censors bleeped out every word from his mouth making his performance indecipherable for the television audience.

Joining Kanye on stage was Allan Kingdom and Theophilus London but you wouldn’t have known that because the entire stage was completely covered in smoke.

Despite the chaotic mess on stage, Kanye didn’t slowed down and continued his energetic performance with a rendition of the Yeezus track “Black Skinhead.”

According to sources at the BBMAs, Yeezy’s set was so heavily censored and unseen that audiences also booed at the end of his set.

Kanye has given some great performances at awards show in the past, but we are still scratching our heads at this one.

Oddly enough, Billboard said that they have reached out to Kanye’s reps for a comment about his performance. But we are wondering that since it is the BBMAs, shouldn’t Billboard explain why there was so much pyro and smoke onstage while Kanye was performing.
