Kanye West and Beck Might Appear on Q-Tip’s Album

Kanye West and Beck might appear on the same music project together and they don’t even know it yet. After Yeezy pretended to interrupt the singer’s acceptance speech at the 2015 Grammy Awards, it looks like the pair may end up on Q-Tip’s upcoming album.

To explain the connection, Q-Tip is a member of ‘Ye’s G.O.O.D. Music label and has produced songs for him the past. The former A Tribe Called Quest founder revealed in a recent Billboard interview that Beck will appear on his new solo album called The Last Zulu.

There’s no word if West and Beck will appear together on the same song, but that would be a major coup on Q-Tip’s part. Although it could lead to an awkward situation when it comes time to perform the track. Or maybe not?

As for Q-Tip’s album, the rapper is working with legendary producer Rick Rubin on the project as well as West.

“Yeah, Rick and I were gonna do the record, and Kanye went through different phases musically, so we’ve yet to reconnect on his project,” he explained when asked if West scrapped his Swish album. “We’ve met a few times and he’s kept me up to speed here and there on what’s happening. He’s done the same with my record. We’ve been talking about some ideas for my record as well. We’re still in step. It’s not like [Kanye] scrapped any of it, that’s a rumor.”

If there’s anybody who can make West and Beck work amicably on a project it would be Q-Tip.

Q-Tip’s The Last Zulu album is expected to arrive in stores by the end of the year.
