Kanye West Slammed by Slipknot’s Corey Taylor for ‘Greatest Rock Star’ Comment

As we previously mentioned, Kanye West is known for making outlandish comments in interviews and on stage. Case in point: Yeezy called himself the “greatest living rock star on the planet” during his headlining gig at the Glastonbury Festival on June 27. The rapper-producer’s comment didn’t sit well with one artist of the rock community — Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor.

“You remind me of the guy who brags about p—y. They never get as much as they brag about.” – Corey Taylor

In an interview with video network Music Choice, Taylor had some choice words for Mr. West.

“Kanye, you are not – not – the greatest living rock star of all time,” he states. “The fact that you had to tell people that kind of says it all. You remind me of the guy who brags about p—y. They never get as much as they brag about.”

Taylor then slaps his wrist — as if he’s giving a child a mild punishment for bad behavior — and tells Kanye to “stop it!”

In Kanye’s defense, we think the rapper was associating himself with the notion that rap music has become, arguably, the new rock and roll. It’s rebellious, it’s loud and the kids can dance to it. Clearly, Yeezy is one of the biggest stars in rap, therefore, it’s a plausible analogy that he’s “greatest living rock star on the planet.”

However, we can see Taylor’s disdain over West’s braggadocios comment. There are plenty of “greatest living rock stars” on the planet. In particularly, Paul McCartney, whom West collaborated with on Rihanna’s “FourFiveSeconds” and his lullaby ballad “Only One.” Then there’s the legendary rock band the Rolling Stones and we could go on and on.

In the meantime, watch Corey Taylor’s announcement to Mr. West below.
