Caitlyn Jenner’s joke about the Steve Scalise shooting left a lot of people feeling offended.
Caitlyn Jenner, despite being transgender and probably having more in common with the liberal community, still considers herself a conservative. Caitlyn reminded everyone of her political affiliation again recently when she decided to comment on the recent shooting of Lousiana Rep. Steve Scalise while he was practicing for a Republican vs. Democrat charity baseball game and now many are wondering if she plans to backtrack or maybe even apologize.
It seems that Caitlyn may have actually been set up when making her joke about the shooting. She was asked to comment on it, after all. It was during the College Republican’s National Convention Gala last week where Caitlyn Jenner was asked about the Steve Scalise shooting according to Fox News.

“Nobody deserves what happened out there,” Caitlyn said. “There’s no justification for it. There’s crazy people in the world — we know that … We have to minimize that kind of stuff.”
That wasn’t the part that made everyone mad. It was when Caitlyn Jenner followed up her heartfelt statement with what she felt was a joke that many became offended.
“Fortunately, the guy was a really bad shot…Liberals can’t even shoot straight,
It turns out that Caitlyn Jenner’s attempted joke wasn’t funny and many people have since shared their anger about it on Twitter. Some users have tweeted about how she needs to apologize for the insensitive words. Others have even gone so far as to say that Caitlyn should make her apology directly to Steve Scalise, who is still recovering from the shooting.
Even more seemed to condemn Caitlyn Jenner on Twitter for continuing to support a Republican conservative agenda that, as they put it, aren’t interested in defending her. The bigger take from all of this is that politics aside, it’s not funny to make fun of a national tragedy. Not to mention that continuing to make conservative vs. liberal jokes will only widen the gap and make room for more senseless violence to occur.
