Khloe Kardashian gets real about KUWTK – How it all started and what she wishes they had not shared
The Kardashians’ lives have been an open book in 14 seasons of Keeping Up With The Kardashians but Khloe Kardashian reveals that sometimes, they should have turned the cameras off.
Khloe Kardashian penned an essay for Glamour ahead of the Season 14 premiere of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. In it, she shares a few times when she thought that maybe, just maybe, they should have passed on filming for the E! network hit.
Even though we thought we knew everything about the famous reality TV family, it turns out that we don’t. It’s shocking, I know!
As Keeping Up With The Kardashians turns 10 years old, fans are being treated to an anniversary special ahead of the start of the upcoming season. On top of that, the Kardashians have been sharing a lot about their decade on TV.
It turns out that, at least in the beginning, Khloe didn’t even want to do Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Kourtney wasn’t a fan of the idea at first either.
"“At my mom’s house, we’d always have these big family dinners,” Khloe revealed. “Ryan Seacrest came to one and was like, ‘You guys are crazy. You need to be on TV.’ My mom and my sister Kim wanted to do the show, but Kourtney and I were really against it.”“We were like, ‘No — we love our little life. We love what we’re doing,’ ” she continued. “But Ryan said, ‘We need the whole family or nobody at all.’ So my mom kind of sold it to us as a great commercial for our stores. We were like, ‘Ugh, fine.’ I remember we found two girls who worked across the street from us and asked them to run Dash and Smooch for three days while we shot.”"
Things have changed a lot in the last decade. While Khloe and Kourtney still manage to keep some aspects of their lives out of the media, they seem to be just as into their reality TV fame as Kim and Kris.

When it comes to KUWTK regrets, Khloe Kardashian is dishing on those too. It turns out that there were two times that she definitely felt like the cameras shouldn’t have been rolling.
Notice that neither of those times has to do with Lamar Odom’s overdose. Maybe she meant to add three KUWTK filming regrets but I’m guessing not.
“Things like Kim’s robbery or Caitlyn’s transition? That’s the kind of stuff we wish we had never filmed,” she said. “We aren’t ever like, ‘Oooh! Let’s do this for season nine.’ ”
Khloe Kardashian is right about that. While we all tuned in to get all the scary details of Kim Kardashian’s Paris robbery, it did seem invasive. When it came to Caitlyn’s transition, filming and the pressure to put it all out there may have something to do with the reason that Caitlyn has no contact with Kris Jenner or any of the Kardashians.
“That’s the sad thing,” Khloe continued. “We can’t deal with things in a normal period, like normal people. We have to kind of brush ourselves off and move on.”
“This is our life, and these are the things that happen,” she went on. “And it’s funny — when we decide not to shoot things, people feel slighted. But when we film too much, they’re like, ‘Oh, you never should have filmed that.’ It’s a catch-22.”

Guilty as charged! As one of those who wants to see every KUWTK clip and know every Kardashian secret, I can attest that there is a pressure for the family to put it all out there. It’s easy to forget that this is a real family with real issues that they are literally sharing with the world.
