Kim Kardashian has loads of famous friends, but did you know that she and Jennifer Lopez have been “very close” for quite some time now? We sure didn’t! Here is everything we’ve learned about the two’s friendship.

Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez recently starred in a commercial for Portal, a Facebook device that allows video messaging between numerous people. Many were surprised to see the two star in an advert together, and even more surprised to find out that both Kim and JLo are good friends!

JLo’s fiancé Alex Rodriguez, who also played a role in the marketing campaign, shared how the two have been “very, very close” and are good friends!

The iconic baseball player spoke with PEOPLE Magazine about the budding friendship shared between JLo and Kim, and how they’ve helped each other out in times of need.

“We’ve all known each other for a long time”, A-Rod says. “But Kim and Jennifer are very, very close, and she’s almost like a mentee of Jennifer, and Jennifer’s mentored her a lot, over the years”, he continued.

Kimberly shared the hilarious advert on her Instagram earlier today, and called her and JLo “Portal Partners”, but it appears they’ve been partnering up for longer than we thought!

“They mentor each other and they have this really beautiful relationship that goes back over a decade and a half, and it’s nice to do anything with Kim and ou family”, A-Rod said.

A decade and a half?! Many fans are hearing of this friendship for the first time, and we don’t blame them! We had not realized that Kim and JLo had been friends for so long.

According to A-Rod, they hang out all the time! The most recent outing between JLo and Kim was a karaoke night, where Rodriguez claimed that Kim had a “really great voice”. I mean, she did release a smash hit single “Jam” nearly a decade ago.
