Selena Gomez teases collaboration with Taylor Swift

So… is Selena Gomez finally coming together with one of her famous besties for a Taylor Swift collaboration? Officially? Maybe someday. Or maybe it’ll be sooner than we expected, according to the “Lose You to Love Me” songstress herself.
As reported by Cosmopolitan, sharing a track remains a very real possibility for the longtime friends. Thanks to a recent tease by Selena, this rumored Taylor Swift collaboration is all over fans’ radar now. After all, this isn’t the first time the major pop stars have discussed making their fans’ wildest dreams come true. Now, Selena is saying she’s ready if Taylor is, and the fans continue to wait with bated breath.
The singer/actress discussed the potential duet with the Miss Americana star during an interview on Animal Talking with Gary Whitta. According to Selena, the pair have wanted to collaborate on a song for a long time, “for sure.” She also discussed her solid relationship with Taylor, revealing:
“I’ve always dreamt of doing a song with Taylor. We both wanted to do that. It just feels like we’re family…I’ve know her for 13 or 14 years now. She’s been my best friend. But we’ve talked about it for sure.”
The singers are no strangers to hitting high notes on the same stage, first performing together during Swift’s Speak Now tour.
Professionally and personally, both Selena and Taylor have come a long way since their early beginnings. And both top-selling performers are already deep in a variety of solo projects and recent album releases that have been extremely big deals. Despite their busy schedules, Selena says she’s totally down to make music with her bestie, for real this time.
From the sound of it, we might not hear their highly-anticipated harmonies next week, but a Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift collaboration possibility remains a very real thing. In the meantime, let’s fantasize about what the inevitable track will include. Empowerment? Friendship? More bad blood?
My money’s on heartbreak, but the hopeful, catchy kind of tune.
