Selena Gomez and Blackpink collaboration is coming soon

Get ready for another collaboration, Selena Gomez fans!
According to Billboard, the singer has confirmed the rumors that she’s teaming up with BLACKPINK for a project. Gomez revealed the exciting news to fans via an Instagram announcement, writing, “So SO excited to announce @BlackPinkOfficial and I have a new song coming out August 28th.”
As the publication notes, the announcement comes one week after YG Entertainment teased the collaboration. The new track will have a tough act to live up to following BLACKPINK’s hit single, “How You Like That.”
When it comes to collabs, teasers, and teaming up with old friends, Selena seems to be a busy song bee in 2020. In addition to her recent tease with former co-star David Henrie for a A Wizards of Waverly Place reunion, she also revealed she’d be down for that long-awaited duet with longtime bestie Taylor Swift. But that, for now, remains just a dreamy possibility both singers say they’re open to finally doing. Someday, at least.
As for the BLACKPINK song, it’s really happening, and the “Rare” singer says she’s “so, so excited” to finally share the new music with her fans. As for any insider details about what the track entails, both parties are remaining tight-lipped for the time being, only adding to fans’ shared excitement.
Noted by Billboard, BLACKPINK’s highly-buzzed-about debut album is set to drop on October 2 via YG Entertainment/Interscope Records, with Selena in the mix.
