Jaden Smith responds to those Sofia Richie dating rumors

Yep, Jaden Smith is finally addressing those rumors surrounding him and Sofia Richie. The two were spotted enjoying some fun in the sun together recently, and their beach day prompted fans to wonder whether the two stars are more than friends or not.

Well, we hate to break it to anyone shipping these two stars, but Jaden and Sofia are completely platonic friends. During an appearance on On Air With Ryan Seacrest, the Smith family member set the record straight on the dynamic of their relationship.

Are Sofia Richie and Jaden Smith dating?

“You know, I actually don’t look at the internet, so I didn’t see that,” Jaden Smith told Ryan Seacrest regarding the rumors. “But, me and Sofia have been friends for like 10 years. We’ve been going to the beach pretty consistently for 10 years too…we’re just homies and we love each other and it was fun.”

As much as Jaden insisted he and Sofia weren’t an item, a report from E! News painted a different picture.  A source for the outlet said that Jaden and Sofia “spent the afternoon playing on the beach together with friends,” adding that “Sofia and Jaden only had eyes for each other.”

Throughout their beach day, “they swam in the water together and wrapped their arms around each other” and then “held hands as they went in and out of the water and then they pulled each other in for a hug.” Hmm, sounds flirty!

Sorry, shippers, but I guess we won’t be needing a cute couple name for Jaden and Sofia anytime soon. But that’s probably for the best. After her breakup from Scott Disick, Sofia deserves some time to live it up as a single lady!
