It’s official: The 2020 KarJenner Christmas Eve party is a no-go. Each year, the Kardashian family puts on an elaborate, over-the-top bash for their family and friends, and fans have been wondering what will happen amidst the current pandemic.

Unfortunately, the famous family are saying “sayonara” to their usual tradition.

Even before Khloe Kardashian revealed the party would be cancelled, there was a bout of controversy surrounding the event. Back on November 9, one fan flat out asked KoKo what the plan was for the party this year, and she said the bash would still go on.

“I think it will have to be way smaller obviously. And I’m totally fine with that,” she said on Twitter.. “But we’re definitely celebrating Christmas! It will just have to be small and safe. Maybe do rapid testing before.”

This didn’t sit right with fans, who felt it was insensitive to host a large gathering of any kind when coronavirus cases were still skyrocketing. Now, however, Khloe Kardashian is changing her tune. She took to Twitter on December 6 to explain why the family changed their mind.

“The Covid cases are getting out of control in CA. So we decided that we’re not doing a Christmas Eve party this year. It’s the first time we will not be having a Christmas Eve party since 1978 I believe. Health and safety first though! Taking this pandemic seriously is a must,” Khloe tweeted.

You can see her update about the annual holiday party below.

Fans applauded Khloe for the change in plans, insisting it was the safest option.

“Yes Khloé !!! We all must stick together to beat this pandemic . Australia has been doing okay so we are allowed out FRIENDS and family over for Christmas !!!! So thankful,” one fan tweeted in response.

Khloe battled COVID-19 herself earlier this year, so she knows better than anyone how nasty the virus can be. And while it’s the first time the KarJenners have ever cancelled their glamorous bash, they undoubtedly made the right call on this one.
