Kylie Jenner roasted for GoFundMe donation plea for injured friend

Kylie Jenner has created quite a scandal with her decision to ask fans to donate money to a GoFundMe account set up for a close friend and her former makeup artist, Samuel Rauda.

On March 18, Kylie jumped onto her Instagram Stories and posted a heartfelt message sending out her thoughts to her former makeup artist following his involvement in an accident. In the message, Kylie asked her followers to please “take a moment to say a prayer for Sam” while also linking out to a GoFundMe account set up by his family in asking fans to consider swiping up to visit and donate.

The gesture was meant as a way to show support to her injured friend and use her platform to spread the word in hopes of asking for additional support; however, it’s instead landed Kylie in some incredibly hot water on social media!

“Kylie Jenner bought her toddler a $15,000 handbag but is asking her fans for money,” wrote one frustrated fan.

“Kylie Jenner makes almost half a million dollars everyday and she is still asking her relatively poor fans to pay for her friends $60,000 medical bills?” added another questioning Kylie’s decision which set social media on fire as countless users took action with Kylie’s choice to ask for fan donations given her standing as one of the youngest billionaires.

In late March 2021, Kylie Jenner’s former makeup artist Samuel Rauda was involved in a serious car accident and sustained life-threatening injuries. As The Sun reports, Rauda was thrown from a moving vehicle and sustained a number of injuries, undergoing major brain surgery on March 14.

What perhaps made the backlash Kylie Jenner has faced from fans so bad is the amount she reportedly donated after asking fans to open their wallets. According to the GoFundMe page for Samuel Rauda, Kylie Jenner donated $5,000 to the fundraising efforts set up for Rauda by his family.

“Kylie Jenner promoting her friend’s [GoFundMe] and only donating $5k when she’s a whole billionaire and can easily help her friend reach the goal instantly… whats wrong with rich people,” wrote one frustrated fan on Twitter.

Clearly, fans are not a fan of Kylie’s effort to do some good once again proving the old adage “No good deed goes unpunished,” to be true.
