Was Keeping Up With the Kardashians new last night, April 29?

We’re unfortunately on the farewell season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, and so far the famous family has given us glimpses into Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick’s relationship, Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson’s reconcilement, and as expected, hilarious moments from the iconic momager Kris Jenner. The most recent episode marked number six in KUWTK season 20, and it looks like the next one could be the finale. Where has the time gone?!

If you, like myself, were excited to tune in to a new episode of KUWTK season 20 yesterday (April 29, 2021) during its usual Thursday night slot, you were likely disappointed to see nothing of the sort when turning on the channel E! at 8:00 p.m. EST. The show’s official Twitter account confirmed there wouldn’t be a new episode ahead of time, leaving fans to wonder what the reason was.

Why wasn’t KUWTK new last night?

Currently, we don’t have a confirmed reason as to why Keeping Up With the Kardashians season 20 was not new last night. However, we can speculate. As you might know, the NFL Draft began last night at 8:00 p.m. EST–the same exact time KUWTK normally airs. A handful of shows, such as Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19, did not air new episodes because of the sporting event, though we’re still not 100 percent sure that’s why Keeping Up skipped a week.

E! was not airing the NFL Draft, so technically the network could’ve still released a new episode of KUWTK. With so many people tuning in to ABC for the exciting football program, however, perhaps the fear was that a new episode of KUWTK wouldn’t do well with ratings.

Whatever the case, we do know that the series will continue next Thursday, May 6. The episode is titled “The End of an Era,” but it hasn’t been confirmed just yet if this will mark the finale or not. So far, the show has not promoted it as the conclusion.
