DJ Khaled sets the record straight on why Kanye West was wearing wedding ring in recent Instagram snap

DJ Khaled got the internet talking on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, when he uploaded a photo of Kanye West to his Instagram. Many eagle-eyed fans spotted that the 43-year-old rapper was still wearing his wedding ring despite announcing a divorce earlier this year from his estranged wife, Kim Kardashian West.

This got a lot of fans talking and hoping that the “Runaway” singer and SKIMS founder were trying to work things out. But unfortunately, it turns out this might not be the case; DJ Khaled decided to set the record straight.

In the photo, shared with his 23.9M followers, Kanye West is sitting on a swivelling chair, in dark clothes, with his arms stretched above him, eyes closed, clearly enjoying listening to some of DJ Khaled’s new tunes.

But many eagle-eyed fans spotted that  Kanye was still wearing his wedding ring on his left hand in the photo.

Despite telling fans that “Kanye stopped by… The other day,” the photo he uploaded of the rapper enjoying his tunes was taken “a long time ago.”

Catching up with ET’s Kevin Frazier about his newly released album, Khaled Khaled, the 45-year-old American DJ and producer set the record straight.

DJ Khaled told ET’s Kevin Frazier:

"“First of all, God bless him and his family, remember this was a while ago, and when I say a while ago, like, when I was first starting to create my album.”“And I was just playing him song ideas I had so this was long, not too long ago, this was like way before, you know, all that and I want to send my love to him and his family and his kids, you know what I mean? God bless him and his whole family, you know?”"

DJ Khaled did however reveal that Kanye West had in fact visited the producer at 8 am to listen to his new tune but didn’t have a photo to mark that particular visit, he recalled how he was surprised to find Kanye eating “scrambled eggs with ketchup” and “vegan bacon” is his backyard.

He told ET:

"“One of my team members knocked on the door, ‘Yo, Khaled, Mr. West is in your backyard,’ so I go to my backyard and he’s eating scrambled eggs with ketchup because he asked my chef to make them and some vegan bacon.”"

He further added:

"“And we was just kicking it, catching a vibe, and catching up and he gave me a surprise visit. We ended up going into my studio of my house and we just ended up playing each other music. … And there was just a vibe, you know what I’m saying? It was just a vibe and, like, you know, I was grateful to have a great conversation with him but at the same time hear some of his music, and he heard some of my music.”"
