The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and his wife, formerly known as Kate Middleton, have launched a Royal Family rebrand after the former Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle and Harry, made some shocking accusations in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, back in March.

According to reports, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William are in the process of rebranding their royal brand to appear more approachable and down to earth.

The Sun Online reported that Will and Kate changed their Instagram name from the more formal username, @KensingtonRoyal, to the informal username, @DukeandDuchessofCambridge.

This follows the surprising reveal of Kate and Will’s YouTube channel earlier this week, and the recent release of their ’emotional’ family video to mark their 10-year wedding anniversary.

In a short video clip uploaded to their Instagram account, Prince William starts off by pointing at the camera and warning his wife: “Be careful what you say now because these guys are here filming everything.”

An unruffled Kate replied with a simple “I know” before upbeat music accompanied the footage.

Duncan Larcombe, a royal commentator and the author of several Prince Harry biographies, shared his thoughts on the recent royal update with the publication, he said:

"“I honestly think they have embarked on a rebranding in the light of what [happened with the Meghan and Harry interview].“Harry and Meghan have shown that modern royalty will only survive if it is absolutely at the cutting edge of social media that their profiles play into the narrative of the cult of the celebrity.”"

He continued:

"“William has decided now is really the time to really push them as a couple as well as the future King and Queen.”"
