Kim Kardashian shed light on why marriage to Kanye West broke down on KUWTK: ‘I feel like a f****** failure’

The penultimate episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians: The Final Season aired Thursday night, June 3 2021, and it sure gave us a lot of things to process. Finally, the series addressed on KUWTK the breakdown of Kim Kardashian’s marriage to singer and fashion designer, Kanye West, 43, – something many fans, us included, have been eagerly anticipating –  as the family took their last (😭) filmed vacation, to Lake Tahoe, for the series.

The second to last episode, titled “The End Part 1” opened with Kim Kardashian, 40, announcing her recovery from the coronavirus – which she revealed she was suffering with while attempting the baby-bar law exam for the second time in last week’s episode – and her return to full-time filming of the last bit of KUWTK. 

In the episode, after reminiscing about past seasons and deciding to commemorate the end of the show with a special time capsule, per Khloe Kardashian’s idea, the family also decided that since the end of their show is looming, they should take one last filmed family trip together; and they decided to go to Lake Tahoe – a place, which was revealed, holds special memories for the Kardashian sisters.

“We haven’t been to Lake Tahoe since I was like 11,” stated Kourtney, and Kim nodding along, added, “And I was 10.”

And later in a confessional Kourtney revealed:

"“We grew up going to Lake Tahoe, so yeah, I’m really excited to go and see it. It’s crazy knowing it’s our last filming trip because the trips have been such a big part of the series and our last 14 years.”"

But later in the KUWTK episode, as the family arrived at their luxurious 17 bedroom lake house, though it’s supposed to be a joyous occasion, Kim Kardashian was in a particularly sour mood taking her frustration out on a plate of cookies.

“Kim has been struggling privately behind [the] camera about her relationship [with Kanye West],” Khloe Kardashian revealed in a confessional.

"“And it’s tough because Kim is clearly redirecting so much of her frustration and sadness and anger, and you know, sometimes you just take things out on something that has nothing to do with what you’re going through. It’s not the cookies fault.”"

In heartbreaking footage, tinted grey to dramatise, it’s then revealed that the 40-year-old KKW Beauty founder broke down in tears to her sister Kourtney, Khloe, Kendall and Kylie “following a fight” with Kanye West before the family trip, declaring she feels like a “failure” and “loser” for another unsuccessful marriage.

“I just, like, honestly can’t do this anymore,” she sobbed, her famous crying face making another return – though on this occasion it lacked its usual humour, stating she was “stuck” while her estranged and often eccentric husband moved to a “different state every year”.

Kim Kardashian then revealed that she felt that Kanye West “deserved someone that could support his every move” and decision, which she just simply couldn’t.

“I can’t do that. I can’t,” rocking she declared to her teary-eyed sisters.

"“I feel like a f**king failure that it’s, like, a third f**king marriage. Yeah, I feel like a f**king loser. I can’t even think of that, I want to be happy.”"

These tough-to-watch scenes were filmed back in November 2020, with Kim Kardashian finally taking the plunge to end her marriage to the singer by filing for divorce in February 2021.

Next week will mark the official series end of KUWTK on Thursday, June 10, 2021, and though it’ll be the end of a chapter for our beloved Kardashian-Jenner clan, we know they still have a ton in store for the future, starting with their secretive Hulu projects.
