Thanks to Khloe Kardashian the KUWTK family are set for quite the surprise in 15 years when they open up their time capsule
The Devil works hard, but Khloe Kardashian works harder! – and she proved it this week when Keeping Up With The Kardashians (KUWTK) aired its final episode of season 20 on Thursday, June 10, concluding their epic 14-year-long run on E!
The final episode, titled ‘The End Part 2’ was emotional enough with their last family filmed getaway and nostalgic look back through the series, but to top it off, the family came together to complete a time capsule to commemorate their time of KUWTK – which made for some particularly tearjerking scenes – and it didn’t end there! Thanks to the Good American founder’s efforts, the Kardashian-Jenner clan are set for quite the surprise in 15-years-time.
In the penultimate episode of KUWTK, Khloe Kardashian came up with the idea for a time capsule, to give the reality show “the perfect send-off”, after Kourtney Kardashian showed her a copy of a Peoples Magazine she had created as a teenager. So, inspired by her sister’s memorabilia, Khloe suggested to the family that they each come up with a sentimental item that highlights a particularly special moment for them from the series, but she took it one step further.
What did Khloe Kardashian add to the KUWTK time capsule?
While she added a sentimental item to the time capsule – a set of keys from the first Dash store – alongside her mom Kris Jenner, 65, Scott Disick, 38, and her sisters – Kim Kardashian, 40, Kourtney Kardashian, 42, Kendall Jenner, 25, and Kylie Jenner, 23 – Khloe Kardashian also added a special touch to the time capsule, that will surely be a great surprise in 15 years time, when the Kardashian-Jenner clan dig up the time capsule from Kim Kardashian’s backyard! (Though with her divorce from Kanye West, we’re not sure whether Kim will still keep her house, so the time capsule could eventually end up getting moved, most likely to either Kris Jenner or Khloe Kardashian’s dream homes that they are currently building alongside one another.)
The 36-year-old KUWTK beauty decided to go old school and whip out a portable, hand-held, camera to film a home movie, just like they used to back in the day when they were kids and teenagers – which is of course is what gave inspiration to the series in the first place! – during their time away at Lake Tahoe. Khloe Kardashian proceeded to sit down with each member of the family for intimate and personal interviews and got some “great footage”, which she pointed out none of the family will see for another 15 years.
This great foresight on Khloe’s part will make for some truly great memories, and will surely be a lovely surprise to relive this special time as a family in the future.

What did the rest of the KUWTK family put in the time capsule?
The “special” items were buried in a large white metal time capsule that read “Keeping Up With The Kardashians 2020”, provided by Khloe Kardashian’s efforts, yet again. All the members of the Kardashian-Jenner clan, including honorary member, Scott Disick chose sentimental items to include in the time capsule, and while placing them inside, they briefly explained the reasons behind choosing those particular items.
- Kourtney Kardashian: Chose a T-shirt from ‘Smooch’, a children’s boutique in LA the family previously owned.
- Scott Disick: Chose to add a “Stay Home” sweatshirt, to mark the period of time, and included his iconic Lorn cape.
- Kim Kardashian: Chose the first-ever fragrance that she did without her sisters.
- Kylie Jenner: Chose the first trio of Kylie Cosmetics ‘Lip Kits’, which launched her beauty empire.
- Kris Jenner: Chose the trademarked plack for the term “Momager” which she coined.
- Kendall Jenner: Chose a painting of their home from season one of KUWTK.
One Twitter fan shared a collection of the items the family chose to include in the time capsule, have a look a the post below.
Though we only said goodbye to KUWTK on Thursday, the family have been taking a long-deserved break from filming, but this following week the Kardashian-Jenner clan are reuniting for a Keeping Up With The Kardashians special hosted by Andy Cohen.
