Britney Spears is causing a major stir by posing in a plunging negligée nightie and high heels as she drops another Instagram update. The princess of pop, currently shopping for a new lawyer after her court-appointed attorney Samuel Ingham resigned, was back to her semi-cryptic social media action last night, posting for her 31.3 million followers and giving the fans something to look at – and a caption to digest.
Britney, making June headlines for her high-profile court appeal and July ones for a Hawaii vacation, was back to posing by plain backdrops and, it would seem, back to “RED.”
Britney Spears goes code “RED”
See the photo below. Britney posed against a white wall as she modeled a dangerously low-cut and strappy black nightie, one coming with pops of red, a black choker accessory, plus strappy heels elongating the “Toxic” singer’s legs.
There was a pretty mean gaze as Britney stared down the lens, with the busty snap also coming complete with a caption. “All has been said and done full circle…back to RED!!!!” the Grammy winner wrote.
Britney, who debuted the photography project “Project Rose” in 2020 and largely posted docile photos while in a peasant blouse and with flowers in her hair to honor “Rose,” did debut “RED” shortly after. The sheer shirts and pantyhose accompanying “RED” posts were never explained, but it looks like they’re back.
A staggering 11,000+ comments were left overnight. Many fans took to hashtags to shout out #FreeBritney, although a fair few users seemed unsure – some even expressed pity.
“Would be awesome if she managed her own account,” a popular comment read. #FreeBritney has long alleged that the blonde has no control over her Instagram, this amid the 13+ years she’s lived under the conservatorship of 69-year-old father Jamie Spears.
“These posts can’t be really her, after listening to her powerful testimony,” another said.
Britney Spears opened up in court
Britney made June 23 headlines for addressing a Los Angeles court judge as she spoke for 24 minutes, saying she couldn’t sleep, had been left “traumatized” and also claimed she’d been forced to both perform and take Lithium against her will.
As to the Instagram updates, there’s been a confession. Britney, who spent much of 2020 and 2021 telling fans she was happy, has now admitted that it was all a front.
“I apologize for pretending like I’ve been ok the past two years … I did it because of my pride and I was embarrassed to share what happened to me … but honestly who doesn’t want to capture their Instagram in a fun light,” she wrote on Instagram.
Last night’s post brought in likes from stars including Jennifer Lopez, Vanessa Hudgens and Britney’s sister Jamie Lynn Spears.
