Last Saturday marked Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge aka Kate Middleton, stylish return to Wimbledon, after being forced to quarantine a week after getting notified she’d come into contact with someone who had tested positive for coronavirus.
And although Wimbledon fans and royal watchers were thrilled that the future Queen of England is back at court (😉) it seemed that one particular person wasn’t too pleased to see the Duchess of Cambridge. Who you might ask? Well, it was none other than actress Priyanka Chopra Jones, 38, a close friend of Meghan Markle.
Did Priyanka Chopra Jones throw shade at Kate Middleton because of Meghan Markle?
Meghan Markle’s friend Priyanka Chopra Jones appeared deliberately divert her head and ignore Kate Middleton and Prince William, despite being sat in the royal box, as the couple made their way to their seats at Wimbleton on Saturday.
While the majority of the crowd seemed thrilled at the sight of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Priyanka busied herself with her scarf and avoided making eye contact with Kate Middleton and her Prince.
Later on, while sat just an arms-length away from Kate Middleton, the White Tiger actress seemed to have found something funny, as she giggled with a friend while the Duchess of Cambridge looked on somberly.
The deliberate snub could definitely be due to recent strained relationships between Meghan Markle and her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton.
After all, Meghan Markle revealed in the Emmy nominated interview with Oprah Winfrey in March, that it was allegedly the future Queen Kate Middleton who had made Meghan cry, just days before her wedding day, and not the other way around, as was reported by the British tabloids.
At the time, Meghan Markel insisted that “The Firm” were very much aware of the false narrative being written about her in the press but chose to ignore it, not taking into consideration the impact it would have on the Duchess of Sussex.
Though it seemed like an awkward encounter, it seemed that Kate Middleton wasn’t different from enjoying the woman’s finals.
