As we all know, Kim Kardashian has come under fire plenty of times in her career thus far. Her most well-known controversies include (but are not limited to) her run-ins with cultural appropriation, accusations of idea theft, and most notably, her beef with musician Taylor Swift that sparked outrage from fans all over the world.

Though all of the aforementioned moments were some of the most dramatic times in the celebrity’s life, she somehow seemed to move past them, arising from the ashes better than ever. However, her most recent controversy may be an exception as it even led to some of her biggest fans criticizing her for her harsh advice.

What exactly did Kim Kardashian advise and why did it land her in boiling water? We tell you everything to know here.

Fans turn on Kim Kardashian following her tone-deaf work advice

According to Today, Kim Kardashian and her family’s recent interview with Variety is the source of the current outrage. The Skims founder was asked to advise women in business who may need a tip or two on how to get ahead. Though seemingly well-intended, unfortunately, she seems to have missed the mark.

“I have the best advice for women in business,” Kim Kardashian stated. “Get your f**king ass up and work. It seems like nobody wants to work these days. You have to surround yourself with people that want to work. Have a good work environment where everyone loves what they do because you have one life.”

Kardashian finished off her advice with one last nudge, but for many, this last piece of advice was the final nail in the coffin.

“No toxic work environments,” Kardashian said. “Show up and do the work.”

Following the interview, many fans fled to Twitter to weigh in on why Kardashian’s advice was extremely tone-deaf.

“I know someone sued for wage theft and trash work environments ain’t giving this lecture? Someone whose sisters don’t do the work of designing their own merch so they steal from Black women’s designs?” one Twitter user said.

“I wonder if Kim Kardashian read the comments circling from her ‘advice.’ Low key embarrassed for her and I hope she takes the time to read the actual struggle of a normal person who didn’t grow up in an upper class family,” another Twitter user commented.

Some found her all-work-no-play mantra particularly problematic as they believed she was blatantly ignoring the many difficult socioeconomic struggles most employees are going through in this day and age.

Some also believed Kardashian was in no position to speak considering the fact that she was born into wealth and never had to struggle financially a day in her life.

Comments such as the ones above don’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Without a doubt, the public is extremely upset at Kim Kardashian. Even still, she has yet to come forward with an apology nor a statement where she clears up any misunderstanding. For some fans, her silence is a grave mistake.
