Kourtney Kardashian reveals reason behind wedding and dress

As you all may know by now, Kourtney Kardashian married her love, Travis Barker, in an intimate Italian getaway in May. For the socialite and the drummer, it was a magical day and planned to perfection. Kourtney described her romance with Travis as “a fairytale come true,” as he is everything she values in a partner. This is rare nowadays because everyone deserves true love and ultimate happiness.

Forward to the actual planning of the day and dress, in which Kourtney had a crucial role, and you have the wedding of your dreams. We all know that planning for that big “I do” day isn’t easy, but having an inspiration for its theme certainly helps.

So, what was the story behind Kourtney’s and Travis’s wedding? Well, it happened like this. One evening, the lovebirds were watching the music video, November Rain, by the rock band, Guns’ N’ Roses. Right away, the Poosh founder and the Blink-182 rocker said to one another, “this has to be our wedding.” As for the dress, Kourtney was inspired by the short wedding gown worn by Stephanie Seymour in the video and immediately knew she wanted a short dress.

With these ideas in mind, it was time to bring them to fruition. On Sunday, March 19th, Kourtney shared her wedding secrets and the work behind the memorable day.

The mom of three and stepmother to Travis’s children elaborated on the details in a lengthy caption.

“One year ago, we had our first in-person meeting with @dolcegabbana to start the design process of my wedding dress!! The first inspiration for my dress was when Travis and I were watching the Guns N’ Roses November Rain video one night before we were even engaged, and we said to each other “this has to be our wedding.” She was wearing a short dress and I thought to myself “I need a short dress!” I had more visions inspired by some 1990s campaigns of Monica Bellucci shot by Helmut Newton for Blumarine.

When we knew our wedding was going to be in Portofino, it also influenced the vibes and feeling of the dress. I also just wanted to feel like we ran off to Italy and got married and wanted the dress and wedding to feel that way! When @dolcegabbana suggested putting Travis’s head tattoo of the Virgin Mary on the handmade lace veil with the words from his tattoo: family, loyalty, respect underneath, I got chills and knew how special that felt. (And my little mini veil I wore to dinner ☺️)

This was all planned and made into my dream come true all so so quickly and I’m so grateful to everyone who put their all into making it all happen! ✨❤️

While Dolce and Gabbana gave Kourtney the dress of her dreams (as well as the other Kardashian fashions at the wedding), the designers went with a gothic look for the reception outfit. While the black corseted dress is identical to Kourtney’s wedding one, she added a few elements, including black lace fingerless gloves, thigh-highs, and matching heels.

Will Kourtney Kardashian’s and Travis Bsrker’s wedding be featured on season three of The Kardashians?

While there hasn’t been much promotion circulating the third season of The Kardashians, the wedding of Kourtney and Travis might be a possible storyline for the Hulu reality series. In season one, fans witnessed Travis’s “rosy beach” proposal and asked his permission to Kourtney’s late father, Robert Kardashian, at his grave. For season two, the Kardashian Konfidential co-author and punk rocker vacationed in Italy to get fitted for their upcoming wedding. If the show was to follow this pattern, then highlights from the wedding would be included in the third season.

As of late, there is no official release date for season three. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that it will be soon!
