*NSYNC reunites at 2023 MTV VMAs and announces new music
The 90s-era boyband, *NSYNC made many old and new fans squeal joyfully when the group reunited at the 2023 MTV VMAs on September 12th in Newark, New Jersey. Not since a decade ago, in 2013, has the “Tearing Up My Heart” crooners (Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone, and Chris Kirkpatrick) walked on the VMA stage, leaving a night to remember.
Ten years ago, *NSYNC performed a medley of three hits on the VMA stage, their first performance since 2004. Timberlake took home the “Michael Jackson Video Vanguard” and “Video of the Year” awards the same night.
When Taylor Swift won the “Moonman” statue for “Best Pop Song” for “Anti-hero” given by Justin Timberlake at this year’s ceremony, she had a “fangirl” moment of her own, being just as surprised as everyone else. She was also gifted with an ERAs Tour friendship bracelet from *NSYNC, bonding the historic moment on stage.
“I’m not doing so well pivoting from this to this,” Swift says as she gestures towards *NSYNC. “I had your dolls [growing up]! Are you guys going to do something [new]? I need to know what it is!”
Will there be new music from *NSYNC?
Yes! There’ll be new music from *NSYNC, and it’s sooner than you think! The band returned to the studios for the first time since 2002 on September 14th and recorded the track “Better Place.” The song is reminiscent of the group’s earlier work in the early 2000s and will be featured in the upcoming November 17th movie release Dreamworks Trolls Band Together. However, fans can listen to a “Better Place” sample online until the song is fully downloaded on September 29th.

*NSYNC rose to musical fame in the late 1990s and dominated the MTV TRL charts. As a quintet, four albums and all major Billboard toppers were released: *NSYNC (1997), Home For Christmas (1998), No Strings Attached (2000), and Celebrity (2001).
