Khloé and Kourtney Kardashian reflect on dad Robert Kardashian’s death

Khloé and Kourtney Kardashian remember their late father, Robert Kardashian, on the 20th anniversary of his death. The Kardashian patriarch died in 2003 from esophageal cancer at 59, leaving four children behind.

Sisters Khloé and Kourtney gave emotional dedications to their father in their respective Instagram Stories on September 30th. The loss of Robert left heartbreak in the family, but his life held love, inspiration, and value, and these traits are very much instilled.

Kourtney shared a photo of her dad waving and smiling in the snapshot. Judging by the photo’s timeline, it appears that it was taken when Kourtney was a teenager in the 90s, a decade in which she loved.

“I miss you, Daddy,” she wrote in the photo. “20 years ago today since I haven’t seen you.” She ends the message with a Dove of Peace emoji.

At Kourtney’s wedding in Portofino in May 2022, her dad was honored in a very special way. Her mom Kris Jenner, gave her Robert’s wedding band as a way for him to be a part of the wedding.

“She gave me her wedding ring from my dad,” the Poosh founder reflected in tears. “When my dad died, I remember thinking like, ‘I never wanna get married because my dad isn’t there to walk me down the aisle,’ so that gift meant so much.”

On Khloé’s Story slide, she didn’t share a photo but used a series of white hearts, sparkles, and star swirl emojis with the text, “The orbs are my daddy. I miss you.”

When at her father’s funeral, Khloé described the event as a “bad dream” and that she “refused to believe her father was gone,” according to a passage in her 2015 memoir, Strong Looks Better Naked.

Kim didn’t post tributes on social media but has spoken about her father several times this year. On what would’ve been Robert’s 79th birthday in February, the second daughter uploaded an Instagram carousel of her and her dad. She called him “the best dad in the world.“
